It is located in the historical center of Tegucigalpa the food is regular, it only has breakfast service. The rooms are pretty basic not much of extras included. The pool area is really nice and the staff is really really attentive

We had a small group stay here for four days while visiting. The rooms (3) were cleaned daily and everything was kept in great shape. The staff of the hotel was incredibly friendly as we went in and out or simply sat in the lobby area. We ordered breakfast each day and it was both a fair price and had generous portions. The hot water was usually working, but we had a couple of times it was luke warm or cold. This usually depended on what time we were able to shower. We truly did not have any other problems!

The hotel is very clean with comfy well-equipped rooms and great wifi. The breakfasts are great but evening food has to be ordered in. The water in the room was intermittently hot and you have to run the shower a while to get it hot enough. The only downside is that we were strongly advised not to walk out on our own as the area is unsafe. We were even escorted by tourist police.

Response from Lourdes M, Front Office Manager at Hotel MacArthur
Responded 20 Feb 2018
We appreciate your review, we work hard so that our guests feel comfortable and satisfied with our services. Until today our guests have had no problems moving around the area, especially during the day; At night we always suggest you walk with caution and without many belongings like a camera.

We came in a group for a mission trip on the last week of June 2017. This was our best location to our trip place... The hotel will arrange most of your needs, you have a cafeteria, for your breakfast which most of the time is included in some rooms. They can also make a supreme one if arrange before. To answer questions I had before my trip of this hotel here I have: The hotel water for your showers have hot water... but usually very early in the mornings , also if the hotel is booking is high you will have some days with cold water, make sure you turn first only the hot water first completely.. it most be completely till the knob stops and then let it run for some minute... then you may start turning it down and turning your Cold water knob. About the A/C in the rooms was another confusion point for me.; so since we came in a group I had no control on the rooms selected but if you do so there is option... No A/C which are cheaper but have a fan in every room, and others do have a window unit or A/C console for the higher stories. The hotel is an old historic one so the walls are very thing and most of the noises are very well heard... the voices, the doors and even the steps. Best places to stay if looking for more quiet rooms .. first of all the 3 floor... is the best one. We had arrange a buffet breakfast because we traveled as group every morning( awesome Hot breakfast) the staff is just amazing, always liking how to help you. Clean towels every day and you will have a pitcher of refined water in every room to rinse your teeth and or drink if you are not local and adjusted to Honduras water. Best room the ones in the middle or center of the hotel; The higher the better although there is No elevator. Our room 125 was just in front of stairs and almost corner to Main Street and since it had No a/c but a fan during daytime is very noisy. Avoid this room if looking to relax during daytime; although at nigh the noise shuts all. During Saturday's and Sunday's there is party and music surrounding the hotel so it will be noisy aprox till midnight. If you are looking for a fun, culture knowledge and close to all historic site this hotel room s the best deal and location you will find with just the best staff you will find in Honduras heart...

We stayed here as part of a large group. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating to us the entire time. Our rooms were kept clean daily, along with fresh towels. Breakfast was served each day and the food was good. We had no problems with the shower, each day we had warm water. We certainly have no complaints!

Stayed there as part of a large team of students doing a field study. It was clean, neat, and welcoming. The rooms are good and it's close to fast food, etc. The front desk staff were helpful and speak English.

I only stayed one night because of a morning flight. The rooms were noisy, could exactly hear the breathing pace of a neighbour. And there was not any hot water which is, looking at the price disappointing. Breakfast, wifi and service were allright.

Every year we have a group of about 20 who stay here. Extremely clean and well organized. Well kept and very affordable with friendly staff. They have a restaurant downstairs and a swimming pool. You can also take pictures of the city on the roof. There are two meeting rooms.

I have always loved downtown Tegucigalpa. The pedestrian streets, the parks, the museums and churches. If you are visiting town and want to get a feel for the soul of Tegucigalpa, you should stay in the downtown area, and the MacArthur Hotel is without doubt, the best spot. Totally renovated, sparkling clean, friendly staff that will go out of their way to assist you. Best of all, it is reasonably priced. Walking distance to the Museo de Identidad Nacional, Central Park and Plaza de los Dolores. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!
