My wife and I stayed at this awesome B&B for several days over Thanksgiving. Humuya Inn was everything positive reviewed on this site. The staff were responsive and engaging, the service was spectacular, and the rooms were a welcome relief in the midst of an otherwise adventurous stay in Honduras. We would recommend Humuya Inn with hesitation and plan to... More

We arrived around midnight but reception waited for us. The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated. Staff spoke English well. The hotel had small problems (deposit safe locked, washing machine malfuntion etc) here and there, however, they ensure all problems are fixed immediately. Great effort. My husband did not like the memory mattress but I think some people like them... More

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your kind words about our staff (we think they are great too). Responding to our guest’s needs, regardless of the time, is always a priority. The memory foam is not for everybody but the overwhelming majority of our guests rave about them. For your next stay please let our staff know and we... More

I spent a half a week in the field in Nicaragua on assignment that had me staying in little rural inns with no running water, so I was really looking forward to a modern, clean hotel. I was happy to find the Humuya via tripadvisor (I had my client change the hotel they had booked to this one after reading... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your informative (and helpful) review. Constructive reviews from guests that travel extensively are always highly valued and appreciated. On your next stay with us I recommend the pupusas, enchiladas or the “tipico” which are authentic and made to order. We do have a lot of “Westernized” items on our menu and will consider ways to... Last night I was one of about 150 guests at the Humuya Inn to enjoy a fabulous authentic Thanksgiving dinner. Even with so many guests the staff handled it flawlessly from start to finish. When I arrived I was able to just walk right in and let the valet take care of the parking. From there I was graciously welcomed... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your kind words regarding our Thanksgiving dinner. This special celebration is one of our biggest events at the Humuya! We love being able to bring "home" to so many that are away from their homes during this holiday season. Our recipes every year include the original ingredients used in Grandma Susie's specialties. Thank you for... More

We arrived in Honduras and were happy to see our pre-arranged taxi waiting for us at the airport with a sign. Our taxi driver (arranged by Humuya Inn) was helpful in giving a quick orientation to Tegucigalpa. We arrived to a very clean, secure and well acquainted hotel. Our room had two nice comfortable beds with white linens, nice decor... More

Ok, so my first reaction when I was planning a trip to Tegu ( slang for Tegucigalpa) was to stay at the Marriott or the Clarion. However after reading the review about robberies in Clarion I started looking for more options and found this one. I must say it is absolutely an excellent value for your money. The room are... Thank you for your review. Our guest's comments continually allow us to identify where we are doing a good job and places where we need to tighten up. After our first stay at the Humuya Inn our company was sold on using this hotel as our home away from home when in Tegucigalpa. The English speaking staff and owners work diligently to ensure that we have everything we need. We have stayed in both the standard rooms and the apartment suites. Hotel was so so clean, modern, cute, people were so nice, considerett, kind. It's just that....it's away from everything. I moved to Marriott after one night. Because it's $10 away to restaurant, sight seeing, shopping , bus station .....after adding up, it costs just the same as Marriott !!

I stayed here as part of a group of 40 medical/dental volunteers from Canada. This hotel surpassed every expectation that I had. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At last - a rare hotel in the Honduran capital that gives reviewers a chance to gush. It's a triumph for good taste, both in the well-appointed guest rooms and long-stay apartments, all set in a quiet residential neighborhood.Once a spacious Tegucigalpa home, this keeps the trappings of a comfortable family residence with the trimmings needed for modern business travel. It's a beacon of class and courteous service in Tegucigalpa. Rooms in the colonial-style house have been lovingly furnished in Honduran mahogany and decorated with striking Lencan pottery and photos of the country's charms. From the Italian ceramic floor tiles up to the vaulted ceiling, it creates an ambience where you're happy to dally - unsurprisingly, there are many long-term stays. The focal point is a lush patio where lychee and mango trees shade diners taking the complementary breakfast buffet. Climb to a fourth-floor terrace for a 360-degree panorama over Tegucigalpa's sloping sprawl. ... more   less
