A clean, comfortable room with a friendly staff at a budget price. Close to downtown & The Classic Center. I was travelling solo and felt perfectly safe. Having the Varisty acrossacross the dtreet was a plus

It makes my day to know that one of our guests had a superb experience at our property, chambleechick! Clean and affordable are the two qualities we strive for the most. Let us know next time you're in town and we can accommodate you with another clean and affordable room!

I got one of the last rooms in Athens when I booked about two weeks ago. I understand there was a sorority mother-daughter function. The hotel is old style, with outside balconies. I checked in about 9 pm. The clerk, who was nice, took a while to assign me. He put me upstairs on a corner, which he thought would...

I appreciate your feedback, Ltmc01! Thank you for tolerating the construction we have on our property. As you can probably guess, navigating our property will be much easier once we have our new building finished (I hope the clerk who assisted you provided you with a map of our property). We can't wait for you to stay with us again...

Worst place to stay if you are handicapped. No help getting to hotel from hospital, and night clerk gave attitude about checking out. Had to call someone from out of town for help getting a ride to hotel to check out.

TrippMoore170, Manager at BEST WESTERN Athens, responded to this review

dadams53, I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about. The owner, Liz, spent 3 hours phoning businesses in Athens (from Taxi companies to Medical Transportation companies to churches) trying to locate a service that could transport you to the hospital. None were in your price range, so you declined every alternative we presented you.

I was happy with the service of the hotel, but the jacuzzi needs to be cleaned. I am a loyal Best Western Rewards member. I enjoy staying at Best Westerns in several state, Florida, Geaorgia, Alabama, etc. However, the dirty jacuzzi has turned me off at this time. Maybe my next experience will be better.

Jessica U, I'm sorry to hear about your unpleasant experience with our Jacuzzi. We take cleanliness seriously at this property, and can assure you that this was an isolated event where proper attention to detail was not exercised. Let us know when you're in town again, we'll make sure your next experience is better!

It was a good location for us with a dog . . . not easy to find a place to walk a dog. It is under construction and you must drive up to office for breakfast. So, if you like to walk it's a good place to stay. Looking forward to the new look and remodeled rooms (?).

Carol B, I'm happy to hear that overall, your stay was a pleasant one. Thank you for understanding that we're under construction (which creates minor accessibility issues for the time being). We look forward to having you again!

There was a lot of construction a the time of our visit, requiring us to walk a block with limited sidewalks to access the office/breakfast areas. The room we had contained 2 double beds, but was very small, very cramped. The internet was a problem the entire time (no pages loaded...worse than dial-up). Since I needed it to complete business,...

Tara P, I'm sorry to hear you had a sub-par experience at our property. Did you try the computer in the front lobby? It is free for guests to use (along with free printing). The construction of our tower (the main source of our complaints) is only a few months away from being complete now. I hope you'll try our...

The BN Athens (N. Milledge Ave), upon check-in photocopied my driver's license and credit card to file away for 5 years for "audit" purposes. No other hotel has ever done this. I would not recommend staying at this hotel because of that.

Our room looked very new and that was a plus, along with the front desk staff. That was about the only plus here. When we arrived check in was fine but when we pulled around to our room we were instantly "reviewed" by some of the other guests who were hanging out in the parking lot. Our key did not...

I'm sorry to hear your recent stay with us wasn't enjoyable, Finkster1027. I'm glad to hear our front desk staff did their best to accommodate you. I apologize for the guests who made you feel as if you were being reviewed; they're harmless construction workers. We hope you'll give us another shot once our tower is completed!

Really felt like attention was lavished on me during my stay here. The receptionists were fabulous in letting us know where we should be costing and when. Really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely book again. Thank you again for all your help and see you next time!
