History in abundance at this great hotel. Yes the place is a bit worn in places, however it's charm and ambience was what I wanted and got in bucket loads. Ideally located great views good food and attentive staff. A great mix of France and Algerian history all wrapped up in one. You could spend hours looking round this place...

Algeria takes only group tours. We took a cruise (only a few that season). The hotel was where general Eisenhower held his headquarters and planned the north Africa attacks during ww2. Only 1 cove of the room and 1 chair was the original in his bedroom (with an escape door). Attached are the decor of his strategic planning room. Ornate...

Art and artifacts in lobby and public areas are very impressive. Very nice large gardens. Rooms have all amenities and wifi is fast. The restaurant is excellent and the beef is as good as anywhere in the world. Coffee bar is traditional but an alcohol bar has been added. Good and helpful staff.

I spent some time in this hotel for some time over a year, and i was excited to come back only to the idea of walking in this hotel. The structure and the garden of this historical masterpiece are just unique and the time seems to stop. You can surely find some dirty moquette sometime, or the wifi not exceptional,...

I stayed two nights on a business trip and had a lot of discomfort. Arriving late at night it was not the greatest experience to notice that you room key did not open the door. Go back to the reception, they shrug and give you another room. Same story. This time I carried my luggage back to the reception. One...

Our business partner booked this hotel for us. It's a nice hotel with a rich history. Don't expect modern rooms, but be open to the charm of the hotel. Great garden! Ideal location in Algiers. Very helpful staff

Having tiles all over the hotel and walls, it travels you to another century. The hotel is very quiet and clean. The staff very helpfull and the food tasty. It is located at the center of the city just a couple of minutes from the sea.

Please read other reviews, they are all accurate in their description. Yes that hotel is old and desperately needs investment and refurbishment. The staff are not great and general service is poor. However, I love this place. The history, the quite spaces in the garden, the small and intimate bar and the location. If you want bland 5 star US...
