What can one say about bustling Fes? We stayed in this riad at the entrance to the medina and it did not disappoint. Crazy busy in the market area, then you walk an alleyway and you are in a sea of tranquility. This riad has a large courtyard, again, the woman who greeted us was just so inviting. Your so used to busy busy busy, they give you tea and have you take a breath. She upgraded us to a suite on an upper floor. We had a private balcony which I loved sitting in enjoying the courtyard and the QUIET. Bathroom was long and narrow, large spa tub, long counters (wished every place had that counter space). King bed, seating area, and just steps away from the breakfast eating area. We also chose to have dinner here one night (delicious). Not sure about why the TV reception is so bad, but we brought our own movies to watch while winding down. If you are looking for the truly immersed riad/medina experience then this is the place. Fes is just so unique lol. One Friday night we walked to the main market area before you actually enter the souk and had ice cream, people watching. Keep in mind, Friday day is pretty much quiet with everything closed down, had hoped to do more shopping.

We stayed only for one night here - our last night in Morocco but it was one of the best stays. From outside, all you see is a door but once you step in, the grandeur of the compact but well decorate Riad is very appealing. Our room was super-comfortable & well appointed. But the best part was the staff. We got the traditional welcome with green tea served in the courtyard. Then Noor helped us figure out the best plan for a few hours we had before the Covid curfew kicked in. She knew exactly the kinds of problems we might face (randome characters hassling tourists to make a buck) and gave us good tips. Next morning, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate our veg diet needs by making special, egg-free breakfast. It was delicious & filling. We went our way to Casablanca for our flight - very satisfied and pleased with our one night stay. Would have preferred to stay their longer but unfortunately we had limited time in Morocco.

Really beautiful traditional riad with fascinating decoration. Musk suite is huge, clean spaces and really nice bathroom. Good breakfast with fresh orange juice and lots of Morrocan goodies. Everybody is really helpful and polite. Highly recommend to hire Hannah for a half day walking tour inside the ancient city. She is really pleasant and provides lots of information for anything about the city. George

Late at nigh, we stepped off on the road outside - a few minutes walk from Hotel (Riad Borj Dhab Fez). A small orientation with help from the friendly locals and we arrived. Our destination was a big strong door (Baab), with round the day reception. The central courtyard was exquisite, very beautifully designed. We had booked a medium-large size room which was well equipped - although it was cold outside but the room heated up very quickly. The floor was Moroccan tiles, pictures, dressing table and sofa, with a stylistic twist of Fes. The room was quite and provided a wonderful place to sleep. The shower area was slightly small but more than acceptable, but apart from that the bathroom and facilities were great. Breakfast was provided each morning, with amazing tea or coffee, local jams and preserves, olives, bread and a number of unique Fes based items. The orange juice was excellent. The breakfast is served on the balcony overlooking the central courtyard which was really nice. Although the facilities were great, what really made the trip special was the staff. This has to be by far the best staff that I have come across - professional yet friendly and no request too small or too big. They genuinely went out of their way. Attentive and available - when required and not too pushy either. The staff themselves are well versed as local guides and can be booked. A great way to navigating the labyrinth of alleys and streets. If you require a place to shop, some locally sourced Argan oil? We spoke to the staff who helped us purchase genuine items used and produced by the locals. For me all of the staff shone and I would personally recommend asking Hanan who assisted by Najeeb to make your trip truly special. We were magically transported back in time.
