Greeted by our host Daniel with mint tea and biscuits, who gave us a comprehensive introduction to the medina and outlined a route that included all the main sights and stopped us from getting lost. Delicious dinner on the panoramic rooftop terrace and breakfast in the courtyard. Perfect location: just outside the inner medina, preventing you from having to wheel your suitcase through its narrow alleys whilst being close enough to everything. The staff were all incredibly helpful and the service was excellent throughout our stay.

We stayed at this riad for two nights and not only was our experience wonderful, it also made navigating all of Fes and indeed the rest of Morocco easier. The riad's owner, Reibal, sent clear directions on how to get to the place and what it might cost to do so. When we arrived, he offered us mint tea and cookies, and personally sat down to explain his tips for navigating Fes. He advised us how to explore the medina and the city (stay on the main boulevards; when in doubt always descend or climb; ignore people, including little kids, that try to get your attention, insult you when you ignore them, or claim that the route is closed and they can show you a better way; and if asking for help, do so inside a shop and not on the street, since the shopkeeper can't leave their business). The medina of Fes can be confusing and disorienting to navigate, so all of his directions and tips were most helpful and went a long way to making our stay pleasant. (In case you're wondering, Google Maps or similar does help to an extent too, but the GPS reception lags a little between all the narrow buildings, plus taking out a phone and looking at the map makes one look lost and thus more vulnerable to scammers offering to "help." Reibal took a good 20 or 30 min to welcome us and chat with us, and throughout our entire stay he would regularly take time to chat and check in on how things were going. Our room - and indeed most of the riad - was well-appointed, renovated, and clean, with a bowl of fruit waiting to welcome us. The rooftop terrace and the inner courtyard were lovely spaces to relax, and the Wi-Fi was good too. The staff were all excellent and ready to assist with calling us taxis or helping us navigate Fes. They also arranged for a private driver onward to Meknes that we were most happy with for quality and price. Breakfast was excellent and in beautiful surroundings, with eggs, yogurt, fruit, and a selection of breads and spreads. The effort and care Reibal and his staff put into the business is clear and comes through in everything about this riad. It also helps that the riad is located on the medina's edge, so combined with Reibal's advance directions it's easy to get a taxi to/from there. In summary, this is an excellent base for exploring Fes and was a great start to our trip in Morocco. Highly recommended!

This is an absolute amazing riad one of the best places I have ever stayed and I travel a lot. Reibal the owner is fantastic he emailed me before arrival with lots of information and arranged our transfers and a trip of fez for us with Mohammed who is absolutely star so polite and friendly. Reibal greets each guest individually and sits and explains the does and don’t of fez and how to avoid tourist traps he explains how to walk to the sites in the medina and provides a map. The whole stay was amazing due to the high level of service provided by Reibal and his lovely staff nothing is too much for them they go out of their way to help with everything. We stayed in 2 rooms and both equally amazing the pictures don’t do justice. Breakfast is fantastic with yoghurt fruit salad cakes eggs it’s a 6 course affair dinner is great you have to inform them before hand if you want dinner due to limited seating everything we had was delicious . It’s just a short walk from the medina and taxis are readily available just outside the door the staff negotiate the price and tell the driver where u want to go. We did a trip to Chefchaouen and left our luggage at the riad, upon arrival it had been transferred to our new room ready waiting for us along with my adapter I forgot. I can’t praise Reibal highly enough for making our stay in fez amazing definitely would go back we loved our stay at riad Andalib. Reibal goes the extra mile with each individual guest making the stay a great experience.

It was love at first sight! We stepped through the doors from the street into a Moroccan jewel box. The colours, the tiles, the marble carving, the balconies, the cushions, polished brass, the perfect little pool - all simply divine. We had arrived late on the train from Tarifa but luckily we had booked dinner prior to our arrival. After some fresh mint tea and freshening up in our gorgeous room we enjoyed a lamb and vegetable tagine with rice and flat bread - delicious. We floated off to bed with happy hearts and tummies - knowing we had found somewhere really special and that we were lucky to be staying there for 5 days. The breakfeasts(!) were amazing - fruit, juice, cereal, freshly made yoghurt, eggs, breads and an amazing array of pancakes, pastries, crumpets - something different made fresh each day. Reiba is the consummate host, being around but not intrusive, charming and kind - he does't miss a thing and his local knowledge and advice was far better than any guide book! His map and great directions made sure we did not get lost in the Medina and made it back safely each time we ventured out. The afternoon he organised for me at an upscale hamman in the new town was unbelievably fabulous - one of the highlights of our travels. I could not recommend Riad Andalib more highly - as the owner of similar place in Bali I know how much work goes into making it all seem effortless. My one wish is that one day Reibal will come and visit and we can host him with the same generosity of spirit he shared with us.

The best hospitality we’ve ever received. We came as guests and left as friends. Andalib riad raises the bar for hotels and riads all across Marrakesh. We’ve been traveling all across Morocco, don’t think any hotel/riad even came close to what Andalib offers. Reibel (the owner of the riad) went out of way to make sure we are comfortable and have a great time in Fez. He gave us a full download of Moroccon culture, potential tourist traps, and tricks to navigate the Medina without hiring any guides. If we visit Fez again, the biggest reason would be to enjoy Reibel’s hospitality. The rooms, location and food, everything was just perfect. Unlike most other highly rated riads across Morocco(sometimes more expensive ones), Andalib has very spacious, clean and practical rooms. And in my experience as a traveler( including the most luxurious travels), I haven’t seen a more attentive staff.
