#11 of 274 B&Bs / Inns in Fes
Beautifully restored Riad guesthouse in the ancient medina with a 360 degree panoramic view from the furnished roof terrace, where drinks and breakfast are served. All rooms (4 suites and 1 double room) are decorated with traditional arts and crafts, intricate carved plaster, high cedar ceilings, mosaic tile floors, and hand-crafted furniture. At the heart of the Riad is an ornately tiled courtyard with a sunken fountain where our restaurant is located. The cuisine is French/Mediterranean with a Moroccan twist and dining with us is a highlight for our guests. Other amenities include an intimate salon with fireplace, large library, DVD/TV salon, roof-top BBQ, and free WiFi access. The managers provide a full concierge service to help our guests with any arrangements they might need and allow them to experience the best of the Fes Medina and surrounding areas.

I have never seen more helpful, efficient and courteous staff than the team at Dar Roumana. Redouane the manager was an enormous help in planning our trip and making sure that everything at the Dar ran smoothly. Rashad his right hand man was equally terrific. The main room/dining room was spectacular. We stayed in the Yasmin Suite which was beautiful. The restaurant is excellent as is the location just inside the Medina. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at Dar Roumana. The rooms, courtyard, and rooftop terrace are stunning - we appreciated staying in a room with both exterior and courtyard windows for the additional light. The staff are consummate professionals, anticipating needs and going the extra mile for their guests. Get dinner while you are there, our meal was one the best of a six week trip (and one of the few places you can get alcohol - my cocktail was delicious)

Amazing place. Boutique and quite with just 4 rooms, one of the best restaurants in Fez and a personalized service. Couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. Thank you so much to all the stuff!!

Our favorite riad that we stayed in during our trip to Morocco was Dar Roumana. The tile work in the rooms were as intricate as those in the palaces we visited, the rooms were extremely spacious, and the best part of all was the staff! The were all so kind, friendly, accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. Another well kept secret is that terrace has beautiful view overlooking the entire Medina. We spent many evenings on the terrace with some delicious mint tea and watching the sunset (didn’t have to climb up to the ruins bc we had our own private view!). If you go to Fez, you don’t want to miss out on this hidden gem.

You turn down a non-descript side street and enter a door that does not hint at the beautiful property behind it. The architecture of this place is so pretty. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and taken to our rooms. There are not many and each are different. My room was my favorite, it's on the second floor overlooking the courtyard. With the high ceilings and canopy bed I felt like a princess. They have a really lovely rooftop deck where we enjoyed sunset views. It's a pretty quiet place, even the room that's directly off the dining area. Breakfast was very good (so was dinner at the restaurant!). It was a great stay and we'd all go back.
