The hotel is a beautiful historical building very centrally located just a couple of minutes from the Blue Gate. The rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds and excellent showers. The roof top terrace has amazing views over the Medina. Most importantly of all though is their staff. Very professional and friendly. They make you feel at home and they provide with top advice on things to do. Well done!

I spent a marvelous three days at DAR BORJ. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Every time my wife and I needed anything the staff was very accommodating. We even booked a wonderful desert tour . Overall we had a relaxing stay and I would come back in the future.

Dar Borj is beautiful, tucked away behind a labyrinth of busy streets. We were greeted with smiles and laughter from the moment we walked through their large front door. The rooms are ornate with old luscious tiles and while the steps to the terrace are quite a workout, the breakfast at sunrise is completely worth it. Mr Otmann, the general manager, is “25/7”, so very sweet and kind. He went above and beyond to get us anything we ever dreamed of and once Otmann learned it was my friends bday, he surprised ALL of us with a gorgeous celebration on the rooftop, lavendar rose cake (absolutely delicious and HOMEMADE), decorations, music. Every recommendation was so thoughtful and we found our Medina tour guide Youseff delightful (booked thru Otmann). We had THE best Moroccan lunch in Fes (Berrada Family Restaurant) where Fatima and her daughter let you have a tasting in the kitchen prior to ordering. And by the end of the trip, Otmann and Youseff felt like family. It was truly a magical and eye opening experience.

👍Wifi We stayed at Dar Borj for 10 days as we wanted to get some work done. As promised, the wifi here is the best in the entire Morocco (yes!)! We were able to stay connected for work without any wifi interruption. 💯 Staff & Service We really have to give it to Othmane, Abdul, and Faziah for making our stay relaxing (despite being in the Medina and being hustled outside). Throughout the stay, each of them went out of their way to make us feel at home and like a family. They responded excellently in our request from food preferences to extra help in laundry. They anticipated our needs during our long stay even before we realised them! The service, etiquette, hospitality, and overall disposition are just top notched. We have also witnessed how Othmane has calmly and professionally helped other guests resolved difficult matters such as getting in trouble with local hustlers and getting your Covid test result in time. His patience and service aptitude are impressive and any guests will be lucky to meet him! Thank you to Abdul for teaching us Arabic words and for serving elaborate breakfast every morning with a smile! The last few days were extra special as Faziah flaunts her crepe making skills which we enjoyed every morning! 👍 Location The Riad is literally 4 minutes away from the gate. Getting here can be a little challenging but please read the confirmation email sent to you by the Riad and follow the instruction or just get in touch. They can meet you at the Blue Gate and bring you over. Apple Maps is more accurate in finding the Riad. A taxi from McDonalds/ Borj Fes Mall to the Gate (you have to walk by foot in the Medina) will cost you nothing more than 8-10 Dhrm. Make sure meter is running. 💪 Cleanliness, Facilities The Riad is extremely well-restored. Your bedroom flooring is literally from 17th centuries. Each room embraces Moroccan Andalucian design, never failing to incorporate plaster works, ceramic tiles, and cedar wood. Breakfast is normally held at the rooftop. This is the only Riad in Fez with a glass room on the rooftop to protect you from rain and wind without depriving you of great landscape. Overall, we'd rate our experience here 11/10. There is not enough stars available to rate Dar Borj. Simply love it!

I stayed in Morocco for two weeks now and I have to say this was the most hospitable Riad I’ve stayed at. The service was impeccable and it felt like family/home. Otman was super friendly. On our first night, he walked us to the medina to ensure we were safely getting our street food. Then he threw us an impromptu birthday party on the second night with a beautiful cake. He also went out to get us street food again for dinner. The next day was sad when we had to leave our favorite riad (which was clean and beautiful). Otman even helped us go back to the hospital where we took our Covid test for travel and ask for the results bc the hospital did not reply to us yet the next day when we left the city. Overall 10/10 stars for Otman and this Riad. Please also get a private tour with Yosef that you can book with the Riad. He showed us so many cool shops and brought us to an amazing restaurant.
