We stayed at the Riad Bel Haj for 5 nights. They were very accommodating and their hospitality went beyond our expectations. Imane, the manager, was very helpful. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with Morocco’s famous mint tea and some pastries, which was very delicious! Imane then gave us a detailed map and explained to us the different sights of...

We booked this riad in July and unfortunately two weeks before we were due to go we were told that it had been double booked. In Stuart's own words, "He was mortified". He was extremely apologetic and had found us another riad fairly close by. It was not the best situation as we were only there for 4 days and...

This was a planned trip with friends as a pre Christmas break. The Riad Bel Haj is a delightful riad centrally situated for easy access to the exotic souks and the main attractions in Marrakesh. The staff and owners of the riad were exceptionally helpful, obliging and nothing was too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. The riad is...

My wife and I take a long weekend away at the begining of December each year. This year we were joined by friends and needed, between us, three rooms. For a little extra each, we were offered exclusive use of the Riad Bel Haj and it was the best decision we could have made. Our "own house" in the most...

The Riad Bel Haj is the perfect place to stay in order to immerse yourself in the Marrakech culture. The setting is in the Medina amongst the souks and very close to the Jemaa El Fna (main square). The riad is beautiful inside and the staff are very hospitable. We were welcomed with mint tea upon our arrival and a...

This was mine and my friend's third time to Marrakech. It seems to have turned into an annual pilgrimage with the main objectives being to shop all day, eat in lovely restaurants and get pampered in a local Hammam. Our stay at this Riad was by far the best yet. The Riad's location is really easy to find, with the...

First time to Marakesh, the Riad Bel Haj was a haven of calm. Mint tea on arrival in the beautiful court yard to rest our aching backs. Local info from Imane- whats good and whats not, and a map invaluable when you are trying to pack in lots of sights in a short space of time. Clean, friendly, lovely breakfasts,...

We loved our stay at the Riad. Definitely the highlight of our days in Marrakech. We were received by Imane who was really helpful and not only welcomed us but also gave us a good idea of what to do and where to go in Marrakech. The rest of the personnel were really incredible as well. Miriam was very nice...

Spent six nights at the Bel Haj with my wife. Location is fantastic, very central and yet quiet. The place is not intended to be luxurious, but it is furnished with good taste, has all necessary comforts and it is very very clean. The terrace in particular is a great place to relax any time of day (at least in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Perfectly located in the Medina, Riad Bel Haj is situated in the Ksour district, only 5 min walk from Jemaa el Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque and the Souks. Ksour is one of the most required districts of Marrakech for its peace, in spite of the closeness of Jemaa El Fna square. Riad Bel Haj offers an oasis of calm and serenity, rhythmic by the remote calls to the prayer of Koutoubia and birds song. The riad, recently renovated with taste and respect of the Moroccan traditions, offers nevertheless to the visitors a modern and comfortable place to remain in Marrakech. Magnificiently decorated and brightened up with artistic achievements and authentic Moroccan materials, the riad also has modern equipment such as reversible air conditioning, free WiFi access The riad is located in the middle of a quiet and well lightened derb and very easy to find, in Bab Ksour, very closed from restaurants and stores of Gueliz, Marrakech modern district. The nearest access for vehicles is 50 meters far from the Riad Bel Haj door. ... more   less
