We had stayed in Riad Dar Oulhoum for 2 nights, I wish I could stay longer, and I will definitely visit Marrakech again and stay there. This is the best experience I had so far with riads, hotels or bnbs. It's a private house with 3 beautiful rooms. The house is so nicely decorated, every piece of furniture and art...

You cannot go to Marrakesh and tell people you have had the full Moroccan experience if you have not done the Ria Dar Oulhoum. Both Guy and Bruno are star hosts that know exactly what it takes to complete your visit. Guy is a very talented tour guide who knows the ins and outs of the Medina. With his assistance...

Fabulous hosts. They could no be more welcoming. Loved chatting with them over a bottle of wine obn arrival. The Riad itself is gorgeous, and an oasis of calm within the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.

We loved much about our stay here! The place is beautiful and the rooftop terraces are an especially nice space to spend time. The hosts Bruno and Guy and their colleagues were exceptionally gracious and helpful. As one example, Bruno offered by email to arrange dinner in Dar Oulhoum since our flight was delayed and we would be quite late...

We are just back from a three day stay with at Dar Oulhoum. We were incredibly impressed. We had read the other reviews so we hoped Bruno and Guy would be pleasant hosts, but their kind assistance, warmth, friendliness, attention to detail and hospitality exceeded our already high expectations. The Medina can be overwhelming to travelers when you first arrive,...

This tranquil, tastefully decorated, and beautiful Riad offers a true taste of Authentic Marrakech, hidden away, amongst the locals, within the Medina, a 5-10 min walk away from the central souks. It's not for those looking for Large hotel facilities, and is probably more suited to couples, as the Riad is more like a personal and welcoming guesthouse. We had...

My wife booked this 4 day trip for us to see some of the gardens in Marrakech. I didn't really know what to expect from a Riad but I was not disappointed. We were greeted by Bruno and taken to the house where we met Guy and both showed us around the house which was just lovely. Everywhere you looked...

We had a nice stay at Dar Oulhoum and on arrival were instantly offered a glass of wine with our hosts, a very nice touch. The property is small, but in a very interesting and cosy sense, with lots of furniture from the owners travels. The room was nice, slightly odd shaped (very long and narrow) although this is no...

This was the dream hotel of a lifetime. I went there for my honeymoon with my partner and the hotel owners, Bruno and his partner, were so kind and hospitable to us, for the entire 4 nights we were there. The first night we arrived, we enjoyed wine and olives, completely complementary, as if we were old friends seeing each...

We returned to Morocco from Australia for a second time in two years aiming to see new places. Although we had visited Marakesch last year and this time had to drive eight hours to get there from Azrou we did it – and the main reason was this wonderful Dar and its hosts Bruno and Guy. We were so happy...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Dar Oulhoum tells me a story ... The mid-nineteenth century, under the reign of Sultan Hassan 1st (born Hassan ben Mohammed in 1836 in Fez and died on 7 June 1894 in Tadla), a vizier (high-ranking official, with an adviser or minister from Muslim leaders), chooses a prime location to build this beautiful Riad, near the mausoleum of Sidi Ben Slimane (one of the seven saints of Marrakech latter being the founder of Sufism in Morocco), a sign of power. The proximity of the holy mausoleum, gave him a high respect. In the late nineteenth century, before the French protectorate, this place was that of a Spanish bank and a British legation. During the restoration of the Riad, existing telephone line upon arrival in 2000 of the weapons found at the bottom of the well and an enamelled plaque written in Arabic and Spanish testament to the power of the family that gave its name to the Derb.
