The mint tea by Hakeema is the highlight of the stay! The room is a but crammed for 3 but the walking distance to the market made up for it. The key storage system at the Riad could be improved. Overall, the place is beautiful and cosy.

A beautiful traditional riad located conveniently within the medina but only a few minutes walk from the old town. Warm and friendly hospitality, beautiful interiors, spotlessly clean and very traditional. The lady owner is an excellent cook and I recommend sampling the large in house menu of Morrocan dishes. Breakfast is always fresh, local, prepared in house and served on... More

My friend and I (both females) stayed in this Riad in January 2016. The Riad itself was absolutely beautiful as was the owner, who was so hospitable and friendly. Breakfast on the roof terrace each morning was a delight and the room (cleopatra) was lovely and well kept. The owner made sure to give us recommendations of places to see... More

We booked 2 rooms here as we were meeting family, the owner of the riad gave us rooms which were next to each other. Both were clean and spacious with traditional moroccan decor. I couldn't fault the hosting at the riad, staff were always smiling and ready to help or offer assistance. Despite being on a noisy street the rooms... More

I have stayed at Dar Salam twice now and both experiences have been good. The first room I had was the tent room on the roof - warmed with a heater and thick blankets. I am a student so the accommodation was small but acceptable (2 beds for the 3 of us to share). The bathroom in the room is... More

The riad is located in a bad area of the Medina, dirty and chaotic. The riad itself is well decorated and clean, and the owner Sobha is nice and helpful lady, she never misses the chance to give you suggestions. The breakfast is very basic, but freshly made everyday (try out their jam, is delicious). Advises: 1 choose the room... More

We've stayed at Dar Salam for 4 nights. We arrived in Marrakech by plane very late, at 2 a.m., and we had a booking in other riad but when we got there our reservation was cancelled because we arrived too late. We were escorted to Dar Salam, where the owner received us very well and gave us a room, and... More

At first I was a bit of scared because of negative reviews, but when I arrived I didn't regret that I chose this hotel. The owner of this place is a very hospitable lady and the rooms are very nicely decorated. I especially recommend tent rooms although they tend to be bit noisy at night.

We stayed here for four nights and we. can honestly say it was the best four nights sleep ever....NOT A BED BUG IN SIGHT!!! Tiana the owner was so obliging and could not have been nicer . The location in the old Medina is perfect for an initiation into the frenzy of Marrakech . We found a taxi driver who... More

When in Marrakech, stay in a traditional Moroccan riad (house). We chose Dar Salam, a small, budget riad in the city’s congested medina (old quarters). The famous world heritage-listed Djemaa el-Fna is here – a live action spot with hundreds of food stalls, street sellers, snake-charmers and so much more. Djemaa el-Fna is walking distance from Dar Salam, located in... More

“Please note that the front door of the riad is always locked and the staff are sometimes out and you might need to wait for a bit for someone to come open the door. Don't choose the tent rooms up on the terrace if you're a light sleeper and don't want to wear earplugs, as the noise from the street is loud in the room. I would imagine that the lower rooms are quieter.”
