This is a great place to stay in Tangier. The hotel is in the restored Posts and Telegraphs building. The interiors have been tastefully restored with much of the original features including timber floors and a timber staircase retained. The rooms are comfortable, very clean...More
We stayed at this quaint, cozy hotel for two nights. Perfectly situated in the heart of the casbah, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the outside terraces (upstairs and the main one downstairs) were very welcoming and relaxing. The restaurant also serves great dinner...More
A quaint hotel located in the Medina of Tangier, very cozy, cared for in detail, provided with the usual amenities of medium category facilities. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Possibility of motorbike parking during daytime and when the "La Terrasse" is closed.
The building has a lot of charme and it has lots of little nice details in the decoration and very clean and good mattresses. Negatives for us is our window was on a courtyard with a bar that was very noisy all night long and...More

The American clearly was looking for an up-market place. Plenty of those in Tangier. The Dar does not claim to be that. His main problem seems to have been the taxi driver not the hotel staff. Taxi drivers from the airport are out to make a buck, not to be helpful. They want extra to drop you away from the centre (Place de France). I was happy to walk but I did not have much luggage and I know old Tangier well. Best for most folks to pay the extra (just a couple of dollars) for trouble free arrival. The cafe next to the Dar can be a problem so tell the staff you want a room away from it. They were happy to move me when I complained. I maintain that this is a great place to stay and the staff are great.
