What an amazing place this is! History and eccentricity seep from every nook and cranny of the Continental, perched high above the Straits of Gibraltar. It is Tangier's drawing room - bursting with character, and full of characters. Elderly British gentlemen wander around the reception in their dressing gowns. Jimmy who runs the bazaar will proudly show you pictures of...

Feel the 150 years of history since the hotel was built in 1865. Enjoy the spaciousness of a bygone era. Sit in some of the alcoves on the reception and first floors and imagine the intrigue which happened here when Tangier was neutral ground for competing powers. The hotel is in easy walking distance from the Ferry terminal (ferries from...

I loved this place and would have rated it higher except some people would expect more modern conveniences. The men at the desk and in the restaurant were very helpful. All the staff appear to speak at least four languages. Moroccan Arabic, French, Spanish and English. Everything appeared clean and orderly. It felt like a step into the past, maybe...

I spent two nights in Continental. The view of the hotel is amazing. There's also a nice café terrasse that gives an amazing view of the sea, the port, and maybe Spain if it's not cloudy. On the other hand, breakfast isn't really great (although it's free). If you want to take a shower, make sure you get one before...

Great location. Fun to stay at a hotel with some history to it. Rooms were clean, staff very helpful. Good price. Would stay again. As with other reports, it is an older hotel, but, you could not fault it. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

This hotel feels like a blast from the past. Our room was much nicer and larger than what we thought we were booking which was great. In addition our room had a pretty decent view of the surrounding rooftops and the bay. Hotel Continental is definitely one of the better values in the city.

The Hotel Continental is a marvelous survivor of Morocco's colonial past. As a history buff and a romantic, how could I not check in there while passing through Tangier en route to Fez and points south? I was happy to find that the Continental's century old tiles and stucco remain intact. Dusty, yes, but still gorgeous and irreplaceable. Management has...
