I have visited this restaurant quite many times. It is a vegetarian buffet indian food with quite many dishes at 10000 T shillings We can say it is very cheap for such a lavish buffet. It is a vegetarian ' s paradise

Even though the property is furnished with beautiful Zanzabari-looking chests and furniture and has a pretty location on the beach, and the room was very pretty with a good bed, the atmosphere was creepy and we felt we paid way too much for everything. We were the only guests, the staff conveyed that we were in an unsafe area and... More

We stayed one night on a DAR stopover. Arrived DAR at 1630 hrs, took over 2 hours to get to hotel due traffic. We were thirsty & famished on arrival. Got beer/drinks quite quickly on terrace. Ordered meals, choice of 5 mains. About 25 mins later were we're told there was no pork which removed 2 of the mains. Down... More

The Retreat is an old colonial mansion with nice decorations and a lovely garden. The service is very good. Unfortunately these features are overshadowed by the negative things. The rooms are dirty, the curtains have not been washed or drycleaned since ages. The cushions and pillows in the garden chairs are in a miserable state, food is overpriced. This is... More

This place is owned by a Swiss lady who clearly has just abandoned it to local management. It was a very sad and depressing place. The bedsheets were stained, the dogs were full of fleas and had serious eye infections which could easily have been treated. They had not paid the TV subscription so the TV didn't work, the location... More
