We spend a day at the pool in Serena Hotel without having a room in the hotel. Very clean and peaceful oasis in the crowded and busy Dar. Great service, great food, nice and relaxing. We felt really good and would come back.

we were unfortunately diverted to Dar airport as a result of the closing of the Nairobi airport due to a investigation. We need to wait for a while before being shuttled to Serena but once there was treated well and with as much speed as was possible under the circumstances. Clearly they were not expecting a influx of tired irritated...

I stayed here Friday and Saturday night. I paid extra for a sea view. What I wasn't told is that the sea view is also a garden view and they host a lot of parties there. Both nights that I stayed there were weddings with very loud music into the small hours - so loud it made putting the TV...

Dear Victoria, Thank you for your review. I would like to sincerely apologise of the lack of sleep during your stay. We have a strict policy that no functions take place in the gardens directly opposite the rooms, however on this occasion we had no choice but to agree as our renovation of the Restaurants and Bar is delayed by...

We stayed at this hotel for a night just as a stop before going on safari. It suits this purpose….it’s a little old (especially the bathroom), but it's currently under renovation. Nevertheless you will enjoy a good night sleep.

Centrally located...convenient when you have business in the central business district. The hotel is currently under renovation but the management has gone out of it's way to make it as comfortable as possible. The food is good but more needs to be done about service. Club floor rooms are great. Enjoyed my stay here...great hotel if you have a short...

The Serena provided excellent support and comfortable stay during a conference based at the hotel -- I thought my room upon check-in was fine, but they insisted on moving me to a nicer one the following day, and they were right -- garden/sea view, larger bed, brighter room. They're renovating some public spaces (the breakfast dining room, for example) so...

You know what it's like... you get a beautiful and well-fitted out building somewhere in Africa but the staff don't understand what customer service is all about. Well this hotel doesn't have that problem. The staff are excellent: receptionists, waiters, chambermaids -- you name it, they're good, friendly, effective. This makes such a refreshing change. The room was great too....
