Wonderful lodge middle in the wild. The tents were very comfortable, nice done up with beautiful details and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the lunchboxes were the best we had during the safari trip. We would come back to Mapito anytime.

Not for those looking for any form of luxury! This camp takes you back to nature, 13 basic tents with outdoor bathrooms (private walled but no roof). The staff and manager are very welcoming and friendly. The food was very good, especially a lunch under an acacia tree, which was prepared especially for us after an early morning game drive....

We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the camp The tents are amazing, so luxurious and comfortable, love the outdoor bathrooms. Staff are so friendly and helpful, the Manager Frank cares so much about the camp and its guests and offers a real personal touch to the place. Food and wine were great, great wildlife viewing opportunities from the...

We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. After a dusty day on safari, it was nice to come back to comfy beds with nice linen. The food was pretty good...considering how far you are from civilization. The 'security guards' (men with spears and bows and arrows) were in our tent in 10 seconds flat when we overreacted and screamed...

Recently spent two. iChat's here. Location is fantastic with elephants and Wilderbeast walking past our tents in the evenings. Staff were all so friendly and warm. The manager frank went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay. After 7 camps this was the first with Internet which was handy but not essential. The outdoor showers are...

I loved waking up to the natural sounds of the animals. Wildebeest sound similar to bullfrogs on a pond. The showers are inspirational, the food is excellent, and relaxing for an afternoon outside at this lodge is priceless. We loved our stay here. Lodges are solid, but a luxurious tented camp in a great location with all the comfort of...

The tent me and my husband stayed in was heavenly. Huge and comfortable bed and a really nice bathroom "under the stars". View was incredible and to hear the wildbeest during the night was stunning! Service was ok. I wanted an extra blanket and had to ask twice. Which is okay, I usually don't make a huge fuss about things...

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in late January as part of our two-week trip to Tanzania, and this was by far our favorite stop. The camp is just outside the Serengeti gate but doesn't feel like it (there aren't any fences). We were lucky enough to have the camp to ourselves the first night, and the...

We stayed here for two nights as part of our 2.5 week honeymoon in Tanzania and everything here was fantastic. It's outside the gate of the Serengeti, but only about 10 minutes, you barely notice it. It sits back several miles off the main road, and traveling during the rainy season, let's just say we were happy to be in...

My wife, daughter and I stayed 3 nights at Mapito in July 2012. Our tent was luxurious and spacious. It had a concrete painted floor, very comfortable beds and an outside bathroom. It also had a nice deck area for sitting outside. I had my best night's sleep at Mapito. At night we heard distant animal noises and some not...
