For experienced luxury safari-goers looking for a more authentic bush experience - without sacrificing any of the luxury - this is the place for you. My spouse and I booked one of these camps for just the 2 of us in August 2016. Lazarus, the manager of the Explore program filled-in as our guide at the last moment when our...

We spent 9 nights with Singita in the Serengeti and the middle three nights we spent at the Explore camp. There are several explore camps and we were at the Marula camp. This is a small camp for smaller groups. The location is beautiful. You really feel you are part of nature. The plains before the camp were crowded with...

We stayed at the Explorer Camp in June for 4 nights and the experience was truly amazing. The camp itself is devastatingly stylish and the tents are beyond luxurious. The guiding standard is exceptional and game viewing by my standards was also exceptional. However, it was the staff from our host, Julian and our wonderful guide, Anthony to the rest...

We are seasoned safari and wildlife travelers that have been on 25 plus wildlife safari expeditions, with 15 alone in Africa with several private vehicle/guided. Our recent trip in September for 6 nights in the Grumeti Reserve at Singita Explorer Camp exceeded all expectations and the vastness combined with the seclusion of the private 350,000 acre reserve is unrivaled by...

This is my second trip to Grumeti reserve but my first time staying in the mobile tented camp at Lions Rock. The panoramic view that opens up in front of you every morning you wake up to have breakfast is simply breathtaking. On our second day, a mixed herd of zebras and wildebeests came to graze in the open plains...

All I can say is "omigod!" This camp was perfect in every way. Kudos to the camp manager and every single staff member who made our trip so special, but especially to tour guide Alfred, who was beyond wonderful: informative, funny, congenial. He made an already perfect big-spluge vacation totally memorable. I'm a travel writer by profession and I've been...

Perfect for those who wish to "merge"into the wilderness with ultimate comfort and flawless service in an outstanding location. The food was the greatest, remarkable chef. I also recommend flying over the Serengeti in a balloon.

My wife and I spent two nights in this Singita camp, by the end of October 2013. The Explore is overlooking the plain and is backed to a beautiful hill. I must admit I was a little bit reluctant concerning the concept, after three days in the Sabora camp and two in the Faru Faru, which are usually considered as...

Spent five nights in the Explore camp and loved every minute of it. We were celebrating our honeymoon and a birthday, and the Explore team went above and beyond. Nick, Janine, Mayenga and our awesome guide, Edward K, were great. Explore is camping, but luxurious camping. We were a party of two, and happy to have our own camp, but...

This is such a unique experience. Imagine an incredible comfortable four-star hotel bedroom done in a camping theme with all the amenities. Add to this the best five-star service you may have ever experienced (a Singita trademark) even if you've traveled to many countries, and stayed in five-star boutique hotels, now put all that into the center of the Serengeti...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Without a doubt this is the most authentic "roughing-it in great style" experience the Serengeti has to offer. A private use camp on the plains of the Serengeti, it is a return to the simplicity and authenticity of safari life but with a thoroughly modern sensibility and freshness about it. It's camping but without having to forfeit the creature comforts or attentive service that are intrinsic to a Singita experience. Singita Explore is particularly appealing to those in search of an opportunity to connect up-close with the earth and wildlife in a way they have never done before. With a private guide, chef, camp host and camp staff, activities can be arranged on a whim, game drives may be as long or as short as you choose and intimate experiences await. ... more   less
