I should start off by saying that I did not stay here, instead staying with a friend in the suburbs. However, as any savvy traveler knows, if you cannot find an answer in a foreign city, it's a sure bet the concierge or staff at a premium hotel will be able to assist. So after traipsing the suburb I was...

I stayed at the Meikles for ten nights. The renovated rooms were nice, but there were constant issues with internet and a stunning unwillingness to repair the broken router causing the issues, and the food was by far the worst I've had in Zimbabwe. Nonetheless, the icing on the cake was the email-- over four months later-- from management claiming...

We were walking down memory lane, visiting for the first time since 1962 for some in our party. The hotel is wonderful, staff are helpful and the rooms are spectacular. Service in the bar and restaurant was great, anything we needed was seem to. We'd love to come back with more time to really savour the atmosphere.

Before I continue with my review, it is important to remember that Zimbabwe is experiencing a terrible economic climate. It is highly unlikely that a hotel in the region would get 5 stars as investment into the country is not on the horizon in the foreseeable future. The north wing of the hotel was renovated and the privilege of staying...

Request or book to stay in the North Wing which allows scenic views of the park and city. The rooms have been recently renovated and so are much more pleasant. The staff are always polite and helpful and maintains its air of elegance and old world charm

This is a fabulous hotel located at the heart of Harare. Bags of character and colonial touches that combine effortlessly with outstanding service. I stayed for one night on two separate occasions in June 2016. Both stays were impeccable in every respect. The offer provides airport transfers and I recommend that guests book before arrival.

The Meikles is by far the best you going to get in Harare. Even though rated 5 star it is a 3 in my opinion. The staff are friendly and helpful. More could be done to keep the lobbies and rooms clean though. The carpets need proper vacuuming. The bathrooms definitely need to be upgraded. We enjoyed dinner at the...

Thank you for staying with us and for the feedback which has been noted and passed on to the Management team. We would like to invite you back to Meikles and ask you to sample the accommodation in the North Wing of the hotel following an extensive refurbishment and refashioning that we undertook.

This is my second time staying at the Meikles and it doesn't disappoint. It is an old fashioned, charming and very historic hotel with very good amenities. The standard suites are of good size and very comfortable. The dining facilities are a little limited and the food is expensive but that is pretty much everywhere in Harare these days. The...
