We only stayed here for 1 night, and had a private room with private bathroom. The bathroom had mold, the AC didn't work, the floor was covered in dirt, and the bed was dirty and didn't have sheets. The next morning I woke up with about 50 bug bites on my legs. Also, they have a bar located onsite which...

Obviously this is a hostel and I haven't stayed at one for decades. Thing is, if you don't want to pay over $200 for a typical hotel in this area, your options are limited. We stayed in a private room which had air conditioning. My only complaint is there wasn't a sheet between me and the cover blanket?! Why? The...

This is not the backpackers or travellers place, it is a pub and at night time a night club with bang bang music till midnight and the owner/s have no clue about the tourists. The dirty swimming pool, filthy sofas and the furniture and not enough resources in the kitchen. Its an expensive place and in the morning you walk...

Whilst we enjoyed our stay at Shoestrings and our time in Vic Falls, the accommodation left alot to be desired, the four bed tent booked was in fact three bed and one mattess, for which no solution was offered, the bathrooms provided were both dirty and falling apart, simple maintenance such as repairing locks has been ignored leading to none...

Stayed at Shoestrings lodge for 2 nigths. Pre-booked a twin with A/C, but when we came there was only a twin without A/C available. I expressed my irretation to the manager on duty. My complaints about "not getting what I had booked" was taken seriously and as the manager could not give us a room with A/C, we were offered...

I do agree with most of the previous reviews but overall our stay was disappointing. Too many negatives. We booked a twin private room (quite good) and a double private room (poor). Our room (the double) was alive with mosquitoes and as malaria is endemic in this area we were disappointed there was no mosquito net - especially as the...

Like a unique hippie commune situated walking distance to the amazing Victoria Falls, Shoestrings Backpackers is a haven for campers and rugged world traveler twenty-somethings to meet and greet, chillax, and rest their heads. The place has amazing character with its arty decor, chill pool and restaurant area, goods stalls selling trinkets and art, and the crazy bar scene that...

Good prices - I paid $8 a night for my own camping. They have their own small restaurant and bar so is easy to chill here. Plenty of negatives though: to use the wifi you must buy vouchers. Also, I paid for a voucher to use the computer but since it uses windows XP it doesn't recognize smartphones from the...

We visited this place after being told that it has the best night life in the area. It really is an amazingly cool place to hang out. It has a pool (nobody was in it), a fire pit (no fire that night), a pool table (being used all night), small shops around it, food to go (grilled food, very casual),...
