Djibouti is expensive, and this is as budget as it gets. Rooms in budget hotels (under $40) in Djibouti are often fully booked, so try to confirm a reservation if you can. Hotel Horseed is an uninviting-looking property with little space outside the share-bath rooms, but the rooms are AC and sleepable, and the fan will drown out any noise....

Good news: the place is simple but does the job! Especially if you're on a short night with a 1-3 am arrival like so many then the hotel market in Djibouti is screwed up with 2 outrageously expensive options that seem to provide low on the price-value equation, then in the "bad and cheap" bracket, hotel Horseed is the one...

I called in advance to make a reservation for a room as my flight would arrive passed midnight. They said they have a room reserved for us and when I showed up, they said no room is available. Which caused the taxi driver to rip us off by charging even more just to find another hotel at 1am.

The location is oke, close to the city center and nice and quiet. Oposite to the entrance is a telecom office where you can get a local simcard (2000 djf). Great English speaking staff and very good food at a reasonable price. We paid about 45 usd, which is too much for what you get (bed and a fan; toilet...

The location is pretty good, close to the European and African Quarter. There are also 2 supermarkets in the neighbourhood. We stayed there for 2 nights and booked the room in advance. In the capital of Djibouti it is a reasonable choice for those with limited budget (we paid 42$ for a double with fan). The room was quite small...

I'll start by saying Djibouti City is a dreadful place (not the entire country, but certainly the capital). Hotel Horseed might be the best of the poor selection of budget lodging, but that's not saying much. The location is decent, the rooms are meh, and the bathrooms could be cleaner. I have no problem staying in crappy places but I...

The hotel is located at an excellent place with just few blocks away from the Guud area (shopping area) and it is also close to Napoleon Supermarket. The thing that impressed me the most was the free High speed WIFI service available in all rooms , reception area and dinning space, this is important in a city where there are...

Very good location - Blvd du Charles de Gaulle, just a few steps from sandy beach of Guld of Aden. Rooms weren't that cheap (as for Africa), but condition wasn't that bad. Funny thing was air-condition shared between two rooms (only one room could control it;)) Next time I'm in Djibouti, I will stay there again.
