Quirky and charming (if you like French Colonial retro decor). We had a huge room with shared balcony plus our own Romeo and Juliet balcony with a fantastic view of the city. The bed/pillows was super comfy (my best night's sleep of the holiday) and all was clean. The staff were charming, friendly and attentive. We arrived late in the...

5 stars in Madagascar is not Peninsula, Silverseas, Four Seasons standard. We stayed in over 8 hotels/inns/lodges in Madagascar. Each was clean, charming, gracious and filled with pleasant surprises. If your plan to enjoy Madagascar your are not looking for a Ritz experience in Bora Bora or pampering at the Peninsula in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Chicago. Lokanga is an excellent...

We arrived here straight from the airport after a long flight - very hot and tired - and although the hotel looked lovely we were given an attic room up very steep stairs with only a hand held shower in the bath, no air conditioning, (and heat rises!) and no mosquito nets so we couldn't open a window. Consequently we...

Lokanga is a beautiful house at the top of Antananarivo. It boasts excellent views over the city, showing the whole of Antananarivo, and the smog! Our rooms were lovely and the staff were very friendly. We had a lovely meal, and they were very accommodating to our son, who was feeling a little off colour after a long car ride.

We stayed at this boutique hotel on our arrival and again for a few days prior to departure from Madagascar. It is on one of the highest points of the city and the views from the balconies and restaurant are outstanding, especially during sunset. It's an older building, but very nicely decorated and appointed. Our room was smallish but the...

We definitely prefer the modern, minimalist look, so of all people could be the ones to complain about this place.....but it utterly won us over. We stayed twice at the start and end of our trip. The first time it was a novelty and the second time it was like coming home. It does feel a bit like staying in...

The hotel is in a colonial era house with each room a different style. The view is great of the balconies. The breakfast was a bit sparse , the evening meal was ok. The rooms were dark and poorly ventilated if you open the Windows the room fills with mosquitos and if not you roast

We loved this hotel for its warm welcome, friendly staff, large comfortable rooms and stunning views over Tana. The french owner was lovely, with lots of helpful suggestions and advice about what to see and do (and what to be careful about!). I would highly recommend the restaurant, even if you're not staying at the hotel. There was a good...

What can we say about this hotel? Just that it is a real surprising experience in 1930's years style in Tana. Great service and food, great view on Tana and the rooms are just romantic! Thank you for the great experience!

We stayed here on our first night in Madagascar. A lovely characterful house, tastefully decorated. Our room was large with a good size bathroom. Slight shame there was only a shower attachment for the bath rather than a shower. The terrace is lovely with a view over the city, The staff are friendly, professional and very willing to help. The...
