As other reviewers have said, this place is very bohemian. We stayed here for one night in the beginning and one night at the end of our trip. Each time we stayed in different rooms. One room was quite traditional and the other was very artsy and quirky. In both, they were clean and comfortable. The staff isn't terribly friendly...

Sakamanga is a very popular hotel in Tana. Their lunch buffet is popular too. So you can imagine how many people are around in the reception at check out time and in the restaurant at lunch time. The staff were very helpful in Sakamanga. They helped us arranged a car to Andasibe when we needed one. Our room was facing...

A very pretty hotel, with everything you can possibly need. Great restaurant, nice pool area, boutique, massage, you name it. The best hotel in Tana if you ask me. The express food restaurant just next door (delivering to the pool side) is also a must!

On arrival at the hotel we were kept waiting at reception for quite a while. This was the only hotel (out of ten hotels on our tour of Madagascar) where we weren't allowed to complete the arrival car in our room. When we finally got to our room we were amazed by the design. It was very quirky and my...

The Sakamanga hotel is a great hotel to stay at in Antananarivo. The hotel has a great atmosphere with its many corridors and decoration. The room standard is much above average and the garden and pool area is cozy. Worth a visit.

I had a wonderful room although there was little light and the bed was not that comfortable. Large bathroom with an open shower. Most of the rooms require the climbing of stairs. Check out was bizarre with the large amount of tourists present trying to change money, get change or store baggage. The restaurant was average and the service was...

I booked this hotel on line for one night after touring the country for 2 weeks. Everything was great except that the different parts like the massage area, the boutique are not clearly marked. Read for further details at voyagerjdotcom.

This place was booked for as with our tour package and we stayed for one night. From the outside it does not look much but once you pass the reception area it opens up into a big area of restaurant, bar and a swimming pool. The rooms are average and I must say a bit dark. The room we stayed...

Almost impossible to describe...almost a mini museum..a wide variety of collections from ethnographic pieces to historic photos to enamel signs to artist-created rooms. You could spend days perusing the place. Added to that it is a warmly run and customer friendly hotel. The pool area is a delightful place to escape the bustle of Tana...and yet the hotel is within...

The hotel seems comprised of several old buildings connected with some new structures and lovely open areas, including a pool area and another patio. (On the first visit I got lost trying to find my way from reception to the room and had to ask the barkeep how to get to my room.) Food and drink are available near the...
