Surely Madidi lodge is located in a SERENE place of Area9 in Lilongwe for upscale travellers. They have excellent Wireless services and the meals are superb not forgetting room services. The receptionist Linda at that time was really helpful

I used the spa at Madidi, and also ate lunch and had the most delicious brownie and afternoon tea here. I found the treatments to be excellent - the facial I had was fantastic and on a par with the UK, as well as the amazing full body massage which was just sublime and again equal (if not better) to...

Thank you very much for your review! We are excited you enjoyed the spa and food so much!! And thank you very much for understanding the power and water situation in Malawi. Due to lack of chemicals in shops we have struggled to keep the pool crystal clear, but we are happy to say the problem is solved now. We...

The pool looked like they were breeding frogs, The reception was very negative and it appeared as though they were closed, but they acknowledged the booking and showed us to some very dated and tired rooms. the grid power was out and the generator flooded the upstairs with exhaust fumes. After a couple of G&T's they ran out of mixers...

Dear Kevin, Thank you very much for your review. We regret that you did not have a good experience. We daily try our best to fight the difficulties with water and power shortages. We do have a solar powered back up system and if the power cuts are too long (we deal with power cuts of over 12 hours regularly)...

This quaint little establishment was very basic but clean. Whilst there are many power cuts in Malawi, the hotel runs off solar power so electricity is an issue, with only one plug and light switch working per room. I was unable to make tea or coffee as this tripped the power. Understandable, however a different lodge I stayed in the...

Thank you very much for your response. Lately the power and water situation in Malawi has taken a down turn which has caused long power cuts (over 12 hours a day) and long water cuts (up to 3 days). To fight this problem we have a solar powered back up system and a generator. The solar back up system is...

The lodge is situated in one of Lilongwe's smartest areas, around 10 minutes walk from Crossroads Mall. It's in an area of large houses, embassies etc behind high razor wired walls. We were only staying one night and arrived in the late afternoon. We were greeted by a smiling and efficient young lady on reception and shown to our ground floor...

Thank you very much for your review! We will pass on your comments about Priscilla, our receptionist! A little inside secret; the lodge was indeed originally built as a house, which we later converted to a lodge and extended with the spa and pool. Apologies for the cloudy pool, the power cuts and lack of chemicals makes it hard to...

Was invited by a friend to go to the spa. Brian gave me the most incredible pedicure - I feel like a million dollars. It was immaculately clean with the utmost attention to hygiene. Such a nice, quiet atmosphere and fantastic service. Our children wanted to go swimming in the lovely pool while they waited for us. They asked the...

Thank you very much for your comment. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your spa treatment. The MK 5,000 is a cover charge for the pool which is deducted from the food and drinks bill. We are sad to hear that the credit card machine was not working, the 3% is a bank charge, not a charge by the...

I have stayed a Madidi Lodge on a number of occasions and generally it has been ok. However on this occasions I stayed one night then left the next morning. The food was not edible, the wifi did not work and there was no hot water. At $95 per night I decided to move on to better and cheaper accomodation.

Hi there, We are very sorry to hear your experience. We are taking our kitchen under the loop. Currently the country is suffering from daily power cuts of over 20 hours due to lack of power generations as the dams where power is generated have run dry. Great staff running 2nd division hotel. Food good. Service good. Hotel is a bit tatty. Our room had little light so it was difficult to unpack after dark. Then it was difficult to sleep with lights on in the atrium. We would not return.
