We would give Mandela's 4.5 if we could and this is due to the value for money but more importantly the host Vera. She is an incredible woman. We arrived around sunset and to be honest weren't that jazzed about the area as we approached. Vera was not home when we arrived but we were shown to our room which... More

This stylish B&B at the end of a tree-lined street near Embassy Row has much to recommend it. The rooms are colorful, comfortable and nicely appointed (especially the front garden room and rear garden cottage that sleeps 3-4). There's a breezy little bar that's perfect for an afternoon wind-down or long evening chats with the eclectic clientele, many of them... More

We booked to stay here for 2 nights but ended up staying for 5 nights. This B&B is clean and the owner, Vera is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is sparse, with one roll and a slice of processed cheese being served. But a scrambled egg is available if you ask. A small quantity of fruit is also supplied. The... More

It's my favorite place to stay in Maputo. I'm a frequent guest since 2012. Good location, nice breakfast, very calm. You can really breath the spirit of Maputo. Close to the famous Elvis Bar and to several nice restaurants. Definitely recommended!

Mandala guest House is the best place to stay in Maputo. It' s a nice, cool place with a fantastic atmosphere. Vera, the owner has her natural way to put us at ease. She knows every one in town and knows were all the "action" is happening. It's located in a calm area and you don't feel that you are... More

The property is located in a quiet and (seemd to us at least) safe area, approx 3 km from sea front. Guard on site during the night. Vera, the owner, seemed to be a very nice person. We stayed in the main double bedroom and it was spacious, clean and well decorated. We found the bed to be rather uncomfortable... More

This was my first trip to Maputo and I stayed at the Mandala for a week. It was recommended to me as a comfortable, affordable option. I recommend it on that same basis. We stayed one night on our way out of Mozambique, and it was really great. The area is very quiet and calm, and staff are super friendly. Vera, the owner, is very nice and has great recommendations for things to do in the area. There is a live-in kitten who is adorable and loves to have her belly scratched! She... More
