Absolutely beautiful hotel with lots of history and charm! Superb staff, they are very friendly, helpful and professional. Especially great location of you are here on business but it is not far from the sights and sounds of Maputo! Food is great as are drinks. WIFI is free which is better than most Western hotels who still continue to charge!...

Good old fashioned but modern at the same time. The restaurants are great and they have a Wednesday open cinema quite lovely. Sushi is great but expect to pay top dollar for it. The spa is also worth a look as the location is tranquil and secluded. A good place for a treat!

Arriving at the hotel (from the outside), it doesn't look all that impressive (being located next to a service (petrol) station) but as soon as you walk into the reception area you are greeted with the feeling of "old wealth & opulence". The old style lift is a nice touch and takes you back to yesteryear. The reception and in...

Polana is not a "cheap hotel", but is really worthwhile the price. Just imagine an hotel close to a cliff, built over 3 steps (Ground floor / restaurant / bar + Poll roman style and an extra block of rooms bellow a terrace), with a fenomenal sea view. Add an exceptional restaurante, specially located over the pool, with a 5...

The Polana Hotel was the iconic hotel in Maputo but not anymore, the hotel has been bought by Serana Group and this is disappointing. The Polana Mar (bottom part of the hotel) is truly awful, the rooms are old, have a terrible smell of humidity and the air conditioning which is central DOES NOT WORK. The top room in the...

I always come back to Polana because I like the architecture and the view from the poolside fascinating. However, today I was unpleasantly surprised that my room is next to this wild party at Magnolia suite. Hotel staff said it was goind to end around 11:30pm. It is close to 1am and no sign of the party resuming. Although there...

It has been some time since I have been here last, but the Polana Serena is still the place to go in Maputo if you are on business and you need to work out of a hotel for a couple of days. Conference facilities are great and the internet reliability has drastically improved from the last time I was here....

I was planning to switch from Polana on days 4-5 of my trip after first few days, but decided to stay (despite the high price) because it is simply a wonderful "office" location to work all day. If I were out and about all day, I would have moved. Can't beat working by the pool/garden with solid wifi and that...

OK… the hotel is impressive… and is reputed as the top hotel in Maputo. I just don’t agree with the reputation it clings on. This was my first stay in this hotel, and was really excited to come here… but leaving the hotel after a few days stay… really it did not live up to the expectations I had. Anyway…...

Recently stayed at this hotel for business. The rooms are slightly dated, however this all adds to the old world charm of the Polana. Every single member of staff I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. As I was a female travelling alone I preferred to eat at the hotel, which is rather pricey. There are however very trendy restaurants...
