I have previously stayed in Umobano hotel and I always feel they could do better. It is an okay hotel, located in a quiet and good place close to other restaurants. The rooms are spacious and food is great. Service is wonderful and the waiters make you feel at home. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to and from...

If your criteria are a clean bed and working aircon then this place will be fine for you. If you love brown tiles in the bathroom and carpet with paint from the skirting board all round the room then you will be in your element. If however you expect tea and coffee in your room, more than one bottle of...

The hotel has a long French management history, Accor, Meridien, Novotel. Since some years it is owned by the Governement of Rwanda. Some details are not so nice in this hotel, the hospitality of the crew makes your stay as you wished. Prices are reasonable. In the hall of the hotel there are some nice shops. Special is a French...

My room has probably last been renovated in the seventies. The carpet had waves in it the size of small hills, the sheets were stained, and the general ambiance was a bit over-priced and down-at-the heels. The internet was slow and the connection poor (I was in the last room on the far left, on a low floor.) The pool...

Has the dilapidated looks of a place that's not well taken care of. Didn't stay here but we had lunch and refreshing drinks with my daughters. You have a feeling the fish and meet for the burger I had, had stayed for a while in the fridge. Nice drink by the swimming pool which looks to be the star attraction...

This hotel has very old rooms but is undergoing a modernization program. Some of the rooms have air conditioning (a must have in Kigali) while other make do with a fan. Make sure you ask for a room with air conditioning. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the food is good - especially the Sunday lunch buffet

The hotel is well located in the center and offers most of the services other hotels offer but it is a bit run down. There are issues with the electric plugs at times, however, the staff try their best. I requested a hair dryer and it was brought to me right away but couldn't use it in the bathroom or...

It was probably a nice hotel years ago but now it looks old and not so well maintained. The rooms are nice and clean and breakfast is acceptable. The food in the restaurant is boring and really nothing special. The staff in reception was nice and knowledgeable. The staff in the restaurant was not very aware of what was going...

The place is a bit dated, but that could be its charm. It is clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet is pretty good and included in the hotel rate, along with free access to the outdoor pool, gym, steam and sauna and tennis court.

Having read other reviews of Umobano I was a bit worried about what to expect. Other travellers mention poor service, bad food and dirty rooms. Fortunately, I was spared all of these. I stayed for nearly two weeks with a working group. The breakfast buffet included fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, pancakes, omelettes made to order and a range of other...
