Hotel City Square is a basic but functional level of accommodation, right in the middle of Kampala. It was clean and comfortable, everything worked. Nice plate of fruit at breakfast, followed by egg and bread.
The staff don't always speak English but communication was easy...More
I planned to stay here for one night when passing through Kampala but ended up staying another night on my way back through too. The accommodation itself is basic and as others have said due to the central location it is very loud if you...More
Average facilities with a small restaurant below. Not super clean but not dirty on the other hand. Very noisy although that's to be expected when sleeping in the centre of Kampala. The location is thus excellent and the breakfast above average, especially for Ugandan standards....More
This was my second time staying here. You cannot beat the central location & price.

Clean, simple room. TV/phone didn't work, but fan did.
Great price/location and very friendly staff. Nice breakfast served and there's a restaurant downstairs. Avoid room 211 as it fronts Kampala Road and is noisy.

There is a guard at the entrance all night and he will guide you to the upstairs reception. Don't expect the night staff to speak much English but you will be able to communicate. The entrance is a non descript doorway amongst shops and you might have to look closely for the signboard. The street will become active and noisy, shortly after you arrive. The check in will be informal and no payment upfront.
