If you are looking to get away from the hustle of Kathmandu while deepening your understanding of yoga in Nepal then HIYA is your place. The grounds are a lush green garden with high-quality private tents scattered throughout. Yoga/meditation is offered 2x/day with set times for the meals which are scrumptious. The only drawback is access to Kathmandu itself, though...

My friend and I stayed here twice in March. First when we arrived in Nepal and then for a few days more before we left. The accommodation was spotless and extremely comfortable - we stayed in the bungalow and the tents, both were lovely. The food is all vegetarian, with some choice, extremely nutritious and tasty. The yoga teacher is...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Centre. The yogi was amazing and so full of fun and happiness - rare, I find in a yogi! He wrote down all the exercises for me personally to take home. Nothing was too much trouble for whole staff. I stayed for 5 nights and chose the tented accomodation which was fully adequate...

After a week in Kathmandu, my husband and I spent 2 days at HIYA before trekking. It was a perfect blend of my interests- whole foods, yoga/meditation, and body treatments. The grounds and facilities were very clean and comfortable. The food and treatments were AMAZING. Dr is passionate about Yoga/meditation so it can come across intense for some. For me,...

This is an amazing place. Beautiful garden setting, simple yet tasty vegetarian food, really excellent yoga and meditation classes taught by Dr Suboth. Can be challenging for the western mind to be still and take in yoga as more than physical exercise. At its best, a personal pilgrimage. Another highlight for me was the opportunity to meet the other guests,...

I was at the yoga facility for a 3 day relaxation before trekking to Base Camp. The grounds of the yoga facility were beautiful. I stayed in a tent and it was very comfortable. The food was fabulous as was the massage. All the staff were very friendly and nice EXCEPT the owner who was also the yoga / meditation...

Perfect start to my Nepal trekking trip by stopping here for a 3-day yoga, meditation and spa treatment package. Situated in the hills overlooking Kathmandu (though you wouldn't know it from the smog covering the city in the mornings), the place consists of safari tents and gorgeous gardens (from where the fresh leaves for morning tea are plucked), plus the...

I went to the HIYA after having spent several weeks in Nepal trekking up and down mountains and staying in guest houses in busy Kathamandu. I was in need of a peaceful, tranquil retreat and found it here. Upon arrival, I was served mint tea (grown from their own garden) and shown to my spacious, clean, comfortable safari style tent....

Before our trekking we stayed a few days in the "Yoga resort". We enjoyed the yoga lessons, the beautiful garden, the quiet surrondings and good food. Actually, we enjoyed it so much that we changed our hotel after the trekking so that we could stay in the Yoga resort again. If you look for a quiet, peaceful place in Kathmandu...

Nobody will ever think of Nepal when comes to Yoga and most would have choose India instead. HIYA has lots to offer, if you are yoga teacher, student, or yoga lover, you will love the way Dr.Subodh taught. A clean, friendly environment with nice fresh air esp when you want to escape from the noise of busy Thamel. Trekkers can...
