I stayed for a total of 3 nights at the Hotel Malla as part of the hf holidays Bhutan Adventure, with Kathmandu being our 'jumping off' point in the region. Very conveniently located for souvenir shopping, outdoor kit (although 99% are Chinese knock-offs not designed for the European female frame) and some nice restaurants. The rooms on the 4th floor...

The trekking company I contracted with insisted I stay here. I wish they hadn't. A hotel changing US$100+/night should sand off some of the rough edges of Kathmandu, not add to them. In the 8 nights I ended up staying here, not once was there warm-ish water for a shower, it was always cold; the room and bedding was not...

Stayed here at the start and end of a Trekking holiday. Hotel provides a good base for visiting Kathmandu. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff in reception were very helpful and always keen to ensure everything was ok. Ate in Restaurant one evening and 3 breakfasts, here the service was not so great and the food quality was poor (this...

In view of the "unofficial" fuel blockade imposed by Nepal's "friends" in India they are doing as well as can be expected. The only hot water is a bucket on request. The building badly needs a face lift and a good clean down but all staff members are pleasant and try hard. As usual the gift shop in the hotel...

My heart sunk at the thought of staying here once again.. having spent the first night in Kathmandu in a Patan heritage house with a delightful host, great food and comfort, I was less than impressed to note the poor standards that are prevailing at the Malla since last year. The room.....torn sheet on one bed, not very clean all...

Stayed here with our Saga tour at beginning and end of our tour in Napel, it's quite a way from most attractions. It's also a very rundown hotel, rooms all need a revamp and to service in the bar and restraunt was very slow, I ordered a noodle dish and it took over an hour to be cooked ,not very...

Stayed here as part of a group before and after a trekking holiday around Annapurna. Room was hot and stuffy as the windows don't open and the air conditioning wasn't working. No hot water for the shower so be prepared for a cold one. I've stayed in better guest houses that are a tenth of the price of this soulless...

I am impressed by the way they serve. They have quality and prompt service. The taste of the food were too good. The location is also in the suitable area. It is just a few minutes away from Thamel and near to the Narayanhiti Museum.
