This is a great more economic option for a stay in Nepal's capital. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, speak good English and were very helpful. The rooms are large and comfortable with karafes of drinking water in every room. The restaurant offers a god selection of both Asian and western food at very reasonable prices ( the momos &... I stayed in this hotel for one night on 03/06/2016. This hotel is a very average category of hotel and may be okey for one night of stay. Hotel very badly needs a total fresh look from reception to rooms. Every corner of the hotel would take you to a depressed mood due to inadequate lighting, old furniture, an awful... More

Good, tourism down overall at the moment (quakes and blockades - now lifted) so it wasn't full by any means. Food good, breakfast self service. Rooms clean and tidy. You get the feeling that this used to be a buzzing place but perhaps the location out of Thamel has let it go quieter. Only 20 minutes walk to Thamel.

OK hotel but in need of a lick of paint. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff friendly and helpful. I arrived late so ate in the restaurant and the food was nice and well priced. Breakfast is OK but a little limited. Free wifi in the lounge and rooms.

The only good thing about this hotel is food & wifi. They do not provide service after 10PM, so plan your things accordingly. NO night shift of employees in the hotel. Staff is good & very helpful. Management should improve services in night.

The Gangjong Hotel was probably top class 50 years ago , but with time it has acquired an air of genteel shabbiness. With a strong Tibetan theme to its décor, the carved wooden fixtures would be more striking if polished to a shine. The rooms was spacious, with comfortable bed and good TV. The bathroom, again spacious, clean and functional... More

I stayed 2 nights with a medical relief group. Wifi was fairly consistent even in the room. Flat screen tv but didn't use it. 30 -40min walk to market and Durbar square. Lovely owner and staff. A few things to overlook-- no toilet paper down toilet. Water in Katmandu should be boiled or treated. Hot nice showers. Fairly quiet though... More
