Hotel Resonance Taipei stands out for its modern ambiance and advanced room features, earning accolades for its elegant design and cleanliness. Guests appreciate the hotel's location near attractions and transport, though some wish for more dining options nearby. While the rooms are stylish and comfortable, issues with service, such as room readiness, have been noted. Despite the mixed reviews on value, due to unexpected charges and an average breakfast, the hotel's well-equipped gym and unique Starbucks breakfast credit are popular perks.

This newly open hotel is fascinating without the restaurants, the lounge, the gyms, the swimming pool, however, there are many great attractions here for your stay.
The staff Bacca who is a little bit shy but very helpful to offer the information, and with the casual chat she has worked in Conrad Tokyo. GM Tiffany Lin is warmly chatting to understand the stay feedback.

Overall, it is a fascinating hotels with many great points and some minor things to be improved.
1. Good location: The hotel is located in the great area with bus, MRT, TPE railway station, many local food shops and several famous attractions.
2. Small things make the difference, the smell: When you entering the hotel, you can enjoy the easy scent. In Taipei, I only notice this new hotel has the scent to stimulate you are going to enjoy the stay. In Taiwan, 3 hotels I recognized there is beautiful scent which is this newly open one in Taipei, Millennium Hotel Taichung and Silks Club in Kaohsiung. If a hotel can highlight "the scent" to make the customers feel joyful by checking-in, then I will expect more they can do.
3. Bright and colorful deco: The deco and furniture in the hotel is very colorful and stylish, it is the pleasure to stay in the lobby for a short break. And you can also find some small designs (e.g. film) for highlighting the local history.
4. The portal: It is the name of the function room for the member stay. You can stay here privately and quite cozy and relax.
5. The room: When you sit on the couch you can also use the sockets and USB for your laptop and mobile phone. Though the shampoo / shower is the compression-fed bottles mounted on the wall, the smell of the shower is great.

Some small things may be noted by the hotel.
1. Starbucks: There is no restaurants but only Starbucks, the hotel offer the coupons (est. $8) for your snacks and beverages will be expired by checking out. The coupon amount can be considered to be added.
2. The parking lot is operated by the different supplier, therefore, in the peak time you may need to wait for 20 minutes.

It is a fabulous hotel with many young and vibrant elements, simple and trendy.....

Hello Oftheplanet, Thank you for staying at Hotel Resonance Taipei and sharing your great experience with us. We are thrilled to learn that you enjoyed the stay with us and are happy with the facilities and services we had provided. We for sure will share your warm words with Becca. The design narrative of the hotel is film roll and movies. We also combined the characteristic of Happiness Village (where hotel located) into design ideas. The woody scent was added into lobby fragrance to echo the history of the neighborhood that was once a camphor forest 200 years ago. So glad to know that you like it. In the meanwhile, your feedback regarding Starbucks credit and parking lot has been noted for future reference. Again, thank you for sharing your genuine feedback with us, we would love to welcome you again soon for another blissful experience. Sincerely, Hotel Resonance Taipei Management Team

We usually stay at the Sheraton nearby to be close to our family when we visit Taipei. We decided to try the Resonance this time because it’s new and surprisingly cheaper.

Room:
We initially booked a corner King but found it to be too small for our family of four. Fortunately, the suites were still available so we paid to upgrade to room 1205. The hotel is new, clean, and has very modern designs. There were plenty of windows so the room was very bright but can also get a little warm even with the air conditions on.

Food:
The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant so we opted to go to Starbucks downstairs for breakfast every morning. We didn’t buy the breakfast package but all guests get a 10% discount by showing their room card. The Starbucks on site had a crazy selection and everything we had was delicious. Because there isn’t a restaurant/kitchen, we ordered Uber Eats several nights. There is a cart located in the lobby for drivers to drop off the order. The guests can then go down to pick up the food themselves. My guess is the hotel saves on costs by not having a kitchen and those savings are transferred to the guests. What a great idea.

Facilities:
There is a 24H gym on site but it’s pretty small. The best amenity is the free self-service laundry room on the third floor. Detergent is also provided. This was def a life savor and saved us the hassle of sending our clothes to a local laundromat.

Service:
The hotel was very busy with local tourists when we visited and the receptionists seemed overwhelmed when we checked in and out. That said, we were very impressed with the house keeping service. Mervin always had a big smile on his face and greeted us each time we ran into him in the hallway. He also did a great job tidying up our room, paying attention to the smallest details possible.

Location:
There is an MRT station (Shangdao Temple Station) within 100 meters. This station is also only one stop away from Taipei Main Station. Food wise, there are McDonalds and several local restaurants next to the hotel.

Overall, despite being Marriott Platinum for a decade, I’m convinced that I will stay in the Resonance next time I’m in Taipei.

Stayed at this hotel with my family of 4 for 7 days. We were able to fit into a twin room by pushing the 2 twin beds together and there was more than enough space for 2 adults and 1 child. Our other child slept on the sofa/ day bed and was just fine.

Service: Amazing. Staff is super kind and helpful. I ordered extra towels and they came within minutes. The front desk helped me return my pocket wifi at a different airport than the one I picked it up from. Ordering a taxi through the hotel is easy and guarantees that you won't be duped into paying higher prices. I tried to give the front desk a tip when we left but they would not accept it (not customary to tip in Taiwan).

Amenities: No pool. Gym is good but small - but will get the job done. The complimentary laundry room was awesome and the washer automatically dispenses detergent. I was able to do a few loads of laundry so did not have to go home from our trip with a bunch of dirty clothes.

Location: Super easy with the blue line MRT station across a small street. Was able to get everywhere easily.

Room: Small but so well designed and layed out. Everything is electronic and there were plenty of outlets for all our devices. Beds were amazingly comfortable and my husband and I commented on how well we slept every night. Water pressure in shower was awesome.

We stayed 4 nights in Feb 2024 in a quiet comfortable room with a Toto toilet and a 2nd sink in a separate room (very convenient) and a spacious glass shower and large tub (and large fluffy thick towels). The room was large, modern, very comfortable and well-stocked with snacks, beverages and daily bottled water. We used the Starbucks vouchers for breakfast each day as that was conveniently in the same building and reserved for hotel guests in the early hours. The reception staff was very helpful and they spoke English well. I want to especially recognize Tracy, Ashley and one other young woman I didn't get the name of, who were enthusiastic in giving us suggestions for local street food and directions. We would not have known about yummy Xing Fu Tang and Ay Chung noodles without their advice. It was a short walk to the MRT station so getting all over the city was easy and inexpensive. The hotel is very close to Fu Shang Soymilk, which was worth a 45-minute wait for the very cheap and delicious food (a must-do for tourists). We would love to stay at this hotel again. Mahalo.

Stayed for a couple of nights last weekend, and overall, this is a great hotel. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with plenty of universal power outlets and USB ports all over the place. The lobby has a lot of varied places to relax, and is quite comfortable. In addition, there are 3 washing machines and 3 dryers available for FREE self-service use (yes, that includes detergent) from early in the morning until 10pm.

The hotel is located literally right around the corner from the Metro entrance, a 24 hour convenience store, a good sized supermarket. and a couple of Michelin recognized restaurants (Fu Hang Soy Milk and MoonMoon Food) that are absolutely worth trying.

Breakfast is handled in an interesting way. Since there is no restaurant in the facility, the hotel provides you with Starbucks credit for the store on the first floor, which can be used for any fresh food item and/or drinks.

Upon check-in, you are provided with your entire allotment of Starbucks daily credit in the form of points that are used via a hotel app, that produces a QR payment code for the in-facility Starbucks on your smartphone.

This is extremely beneficial, because you are not limited to breakfast time to use the points. You can grab dessert at night, or stop in for a tea break. Plus, it gives you an opportunity to enjoy breakfast at Fu Hang soy milk without having wasted money on an uneaten breakfast at the hotel.

Will definitely repeat!

Hello KKen22, Thank you for choosing Hotel Resonance Taipei and sharing this wonderful feedback with us. Hotel Resonance Taipei is almost right next to MRT Shandao temple station, which is indeed a great starting point to explore this beautiful city we love. And we do understand the needs to get the laundry done when on the road therefore we’re very happy that we did help you staying refreshed. Moreover, as Taiwan is famous for the breakfast culture, we hope our very flexible Starbuck credit can let our guests decide whether they would like to experience local breakfast shops and still can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee at later time during the stay. We are so excited to learn that you did find this feature beneficial! Again, thank you for sharing your genuine feedback with us. We would love to welcome you again soon for another blissful experience. Sincerely, Hotel Resonance Taipei Management Team

Clean and Modern Hotel!

It is 1 min walk to the Shandao Temple MRT, 1 min walk to McDonald’s that’s 24 hours, 1 min walk to 7-11 and various local breakfast and lunch store within 1-5 mins walk away.

I think the location is fantastic, it is 1 station away from Taipei Main Station if you are taking a train to and back to the Airport. 2-7stations away from major tourist stops (Ximending, Xinyi, Taipei 101 etc).

Hotel room wise, it’s large for 2 person with a bath tub, a separate standing shower and a toilet. Rooms are kept extremely clean with basic toilet amenities. There’s even a full ceiling window with automated curtain.

The hotel does not have a restaurant, for breakfast, they offer 315NTD credit per day to be used at the Starbucks located within the hotel. There’s fresh pastries for breakfast.

Overall, I had a wonderful experience staying here 👍🏻

Modern hotel that offers poor value due to limited services.

Our check in experience was very unpleasant. There was no one at the reception and instead the concierge checked us in. We felt like we were nickeled and dimed by this lady. We booked 2 rooms, one for 3 people and a second room for 2 people. We were told that if we want a rollaway bed we need to pay for the third person we need to pay an additional $50 per night, or if we want a sofa bed instead there is a different charge for it. If we do not want to pay extra there is a couch in the room that one could use but it is not a bed. I thought that when you book a room for 3 you get beds for 3 people!

We booked 2 rooms for a family and were told that if we reserve a corner king and a corner twin we’ll get connecting rooms. We later learned that the rooms are not connecting, there is a door that locks that leads you to two rooms that are opposite each other. These are not connecting rooms and do not work well for families.

We were also surprised as having Hilton status we received vouchers for breakfast but only for one person, although we were a party of five. Starbucks has pastries and coffee, it is not a full service breakfast and the vouchers we received were sufficient for coffee and pastry for one person anyway. We went to a place across the street for breakfast one morning, it was hard to communicate but a customer who spoke English helped. On another day we stood in line at the famous Fu Hang Soy Milk. We arrived there at 6:30 am and stood in line for 50 minutes. The food is good but not sure that it is worth the wait. On a third day we got McDonalds for breakfast. You get the idea that your status does not give you breakfast or lounge access so this hotel offers a poor value.

The hotel was helpful in finding an English speaking driver for the day. It is $150 for 8 hours. Front desk staff varied in helpfulness.

The pros are the large room, very nice shower, free laundry on the 3rd floor. The laundry machine has built in detergent so you do not need to bring any. The downside with the laundry is that there are 3 washers and 3 dryers and the laundry room is open from 6 am to 10 pm, it should be open 24/7. We tried doing laundry early in the morning and the machines were all taken. We had better luck getting a machine in the middle of the day.

There is a 7/11 across the street and a ramen and a vegetarian fast food place, but not much more in terms of restaurants. We used Uber to get places and UberEATS to deliver food to the hotel.

I would not stay at this hotel when in Taipei again due to the lack of breakfast and a full service restaurant.

Very new hotel that is thoughtfully designed.

Location:
At the government centre area. Not near shopping. However, there are many breakfast shops just outside hotel and the famous soya bean store. There is also a Big Macs when you feel like comfort food. Stay here if you don’t mind traveling a little to the more happening areas. I liked the peacefulness in the area. Fairly convenient if you drive and the train station is just 5 min walk away.

Rooms:
Outstanding comfort and design. Stayed in the corner King and Twin as that allowed us to have “communicating” corridor. The hotel does not have interconnecting rooms so if you book this configuration, they will close off the end bit of the corridor between the 2 corner rooms with doors and you can have a private corridor between the 2 rooms.
Rooms were beautifully designed and very quiet. Had peaceful sleep

Parking:
Free parking for guests. Busy carpark in the daytime but no problems in the evenings when we come back from touring the region.

Breakfast:
We took a breakfast included package thinking that there will be the standard buffet breakfast. Instead we were told that the breakfast was actually in the form of credits per room that we can spend at the on site Starbucks. Turned out to be a very nice option as that meant we did not overeat and we could vary drinks and food. The Starbucks had a huge variety of food including pastas and fruit which I do not remember seeing in Singapore. The Starbucks also has this super high ceiling and is just beautiful. It does get pretty crowded when they open the store up to the public a little later. The only thing strange was how they did not assign any credits to my daughter who is under 12. I suggest to list as all adults when you book

Service:
Great comms by the staff when I wrote in with questions. They were efficient and keen to help.

Amenities:
24 hour gym! Important to us as we often return late from touring but would still like to get a little exercise in.
Laundry room with 3 washers and dryers which are completely free. Amazing!

Summary:
All in this is a new hotel with good facilities, rooms and staff. Breakfast is unusual but good and location is easy for traveling but not near the usual shopping tourist areas. I will certainly come back again.

Hello WeeYao, Thank you for staying at Hotel Resonance Taipei and sharing such lovely review with us. We are delighted that your experience met your expectations and that you returned home with lovely memories. On top of all the points that you kindly shared, which definitely will benefit travelers who are looking for some genuine feedback, we would like to take this opportunity to share with you that, the Starbucks credit issued depends on the number of adults booked under the package and children sharing the same bedding will not receive Starbucks credit. We would recommend guests purchasing additional credit which can be done at the Reception. Once again, thank you for such a detailed review and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Sincerely, Hotel Resonance Taipei Management Team

We stayed here as a family in December 2022. We were greeted by friendly staff upon artificial. Although an upgrade was not available for Diamond members, we were content with what was offered.
The hotel is only 30 seconds away from the MRT station. One stop from Taipei train station.
Overall a great stay. The best part about this hotel is their staff. Everyone was very courteous, friendly and willing to help.
The only complaint I have is the hours of the laundry room. It’s only open from 6AM to 10PM with 3 washers and 3 dryers. It’s actually not easy to wash your clothes when we stayed. With the hotel fully booked, people were in line waiting to have laundry done. You feel like you need to go there first thing in the morning, otherwise it’s all occupied. When we were there, 1 washer and 1 dryer were out of order, so it’s even tougher to get your clothes washed. You have a jet lag and you figure it’s no problem doing your laundry in the middle of the night, sorry, laundry room not open. You simply have to wait til 6AM. I have stayed at a few hotels with a laundry facility, and I have never had a problem with getting laundry done, but not at this property.
When inquiring why they have this strange rule, the hotel staff replied that it is because they don’t want hotel guests to be disturbed in the middle of the night. Well, it doesn’t make sense to me, because the fitness room across the hallway is actually open 24 hours.
I hope they can modify this policy and make travelers’ stay more pleasant and stress free.

This hotel has a very convenient location. The entrance to the Shandao MRT station is literally right outside the hotel. It is only 1 stop from Taipei Main Station. It is also right beside Fu Hang Soy Milk, a breakfast place with a Michelin Bib Gourmand. This hotel doesn't have a restaurant or room service but there is an attached Starbucks. If you have breakfast included in your reservation, you will get credits to use at the Starbucks. The Starbucks opens to the public at 9:30am on weekdays and 10am on weekends (it gets busy!) but from 7am to 9:30am on weekdays and 7:30am-10am on weekends, it is open exclusively to hotel guests. There are free to use laundry machines on the 3rd floor along with a 24-hour fitness center. They don't have an executive lounge but they have something equivalent called "The Portal" which is stocked with cold drinks, hot coffee and snacks. The staff at this hotel are exemplary. They are very nice and helpful and will go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. They are also fluently bilingual in Chinese and English. Some things that I've noticed at this hotel that may be overlooked are the fine details. The middle elevator seems to be programmed to always be on the first floor with the doors open when not in use. There is a very nice fragrance that emanates throughout the lobby and when returning to the hotel after a long day out and about, the smell is very refreshing along with the blast of cool air as soon as the lobby doors open. The bathrooms in the lobby are always clean. The floors and counters are spotless as there are no dribbles of urine around the urinal and toilets, there are no drops of water on the counters by the sink and the toilet is pristine. When requesting a taxi, the staff will ask you where you are going and write the address on a card along with the taxi's license plate number to help with the language barrier. They will come out to open and close the taxi door for you.
