We just stayed here for 2 nights for our stopover in Taipei and found the reviews to be spot on. We used booking.com who also provided excellent service by contacting the hotel via phone to request a very late check-in. Very easy taxi ride to the hotel at 1100 NT. The front desk management was superb with their customer service....

My wife and I travel often, and we've stayed at five star locations that have impressed us less than this hotel. Read from the others, the location is central, the rooms are clean, and the staff caring. We stayed for a week and the place was perfect. The laundry service was affordable and professional. We will stay at Dong Wu...

I stayed here for one night, before moving on elsewhere in Taiwan. The Dong Wu is a "no-frills" budget hotel, but has got everything you need. My room was spacious with a large king size bed which offered a comfortable night's sleep. The room was very clean, and the bathroom had a 'shower-over-bath' arrangement. The staff was welcoming and helpful...

Hotel is located not far away from Taipei central station (30 mins by feet through City Mall). Also there is MRT station 3 minutes by feet to the North. 10 minutes away from Carrefour large grocery shop, 7-Eleven is just the next door from the hotel entrance. From airport taxi costs 1100 TWD. I would recommend taking the bus to...

Pros: Clean room, free internet, friendly staff (who can speak English), close to MRT station and walking distance to Taipei main station too. Staff helped me by giving directions to local eat out places, sight seeing and also organised a day trip out to Tarako national park. There is a free library in the dining area in addition to a...

For 62 dollars a night you get: very clean room, quite big, very comfortable bathroom with razor, shaving cream , toothbrush and toothpaste etc, coffee machine and minifridge with sodas, nice big flatscreen tv, huge comfortable bed with plenty of pillows, very nice breakfast, that was a surprise for a budget hotel at this price! The girls at the reception...

The Dong Wu Hotel is perfect for visiting Taipei since it's near to an underground station and located in a typical neighbourhood of the city. It also feels very safe. The staff is polite and helpful, the room clean and comfortable and breakfast has a variety of dishes including Western ones.

The Dong Wu is basically a business class hotel (Sheraton, Hilton etc) but for a fraction of the price. Maybe some aspects weren't quite as slick, but on the other hand, you get extras you wouldn't get in a big hotel chain like a large selection of magazines in the breakfast cafe, free internet & PCs (Mac & WIndows) to...

The bus trip from the airport was quite long, and had to get off at a bus stop and then catch a taxi there. I think if we didn't know any Mandarin (we know a few words here and there but that's it) we might have struggled to get to this hotel. But when the taxi pulled up outside the...
