I stay at Som's when in Bangkok - just like I've been doing since 2010. I've visited more than 100 countries since I started working overseas in 1965 and Som's ticks all the boxes, while still being pretty cheap - B800 for one of just six ensuites. Like almost everyone else, I reckon "Location" has to be THE criterion and...

Great clean place to stay out of the hussle and busses of bangkok. Staff friendly with some English, they will phone a friend if a language barrier exist. English, irish, french, Australia, Belgium, and German are regulars so rooms are not always avalible. Call or email to check your dates, they have great recommendations to places if they are full.

This ideal guest house was literally discovered in 2009 because I was looking for an alternative to the business hotels I was staying in during my working years. As it turns out, this charming establishment was literally next door to the Queen's Park Hotel on Sukhumvit, Soi 22. I had met the owner at her small corner bar (Denny's Corner...

I spent my last night in Siam here and wish I had found it earlier. I splashed out on the 900B. room and enjoyed it. The foyer is quirky in a welcoming way and it was very friendly. My bed was comfortable. The owner let me have a quick shower in a spare room just before catching my evening flight....

After i stayed there again, i decided not to come again. They really need and renovation. It become old and its not worth to stay there. Pay a few THB more and go to another hotel. A good bookingsite is Agoda.com

I'm going back to Thailand to visit friends, and I always stay at this guesthouse, I really like the feel of the place, modesty priced with breakfast, very Thai, always good, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, could do with a coat of paint in some places, but if you want that, there are plenty of larger and more expensive hotels...

the rooms need a renovation, but what will you expect for a low budget. better pay 200baht more and go to regency park. better value for the money. but if you want to sleep clean and cheap its ok. there is no lift, so you must climb up the stairs with bag

I stayed there May 2012. This was the second time I have been there and my brother has stayed there twice too. We like it. It is a little older but clean, large rooms, good A/C, free wifi, breakfast....every thing you need. The couple who own it are cool and the location is great. You can walk to the MRT...
