We saw the photos in Internet and we thought that it would 6 be a good place. First, we had to jump over the rats. After we were too much disappointed, there wasn't light, it was dirty and far away from the city center. I will not come back there anymore. No repetiriamos jamas. Muchisimas ratas en la zona. El...

This hostel, while not the most luxurious, is a wonderful choice because of the friendly staff. It will feel like a home away from home if you talk to them. Otto will help teach you some Thai, will tell you funny stories, tell where the best street food is, and, if you return a second time, they will remember you...

We arrived here after a long flight from Sydney - and so glad we booked here! The couple that run this place are so lovely!! They swapped rooms so we could check in earlier noticing how tired we were and are very helpful!! We got here on the first day of Songkran and the celebrations were right outside our hostel...

So let's just say, I don't think we meant to book this place, especially after reading some of the reviews. It was pretty easy to find, pretty much a straight walk from exit 4 of the Chong Nonsi BTS station, just on the corner, where the train-line itself corners. And it's in a pretty good location, with a great atmosphere...

After we opened the door to our room we saw two cockroaches, not nice, but ok. The rooms are really basic, just a bed and nothing more. Our room was facing a balcony, where the owner family was drying things and storing some trash. One air-con for two rooms is not enough, so it was very hot during the night....

The staff are rude and inattentive. That being said if you are just looking for a dorm room under 300 baht then it is a decent option. Showers and bathrooms are pretty good, but the width of the beds is seriously bellow average.

Staff is very friendly. Place is acceptably clean. Very cramped, but good enough for that price and excellent location. The air con in our room was shared with the next room, it's hard to explain this.. but anyhow, so we didn't know how to adjust the temperature and it was rather warm but not unbearable. Recommended for those on a...

My friend and I were stranded in Bangkok without a place to stay and didn't want to pay 1600 for a double room like all the other hostels were asking. This place we got a room for 690 or so and for downtown, central BKK, you can't complain. The room is incredibly basic though. Showers and bathrooms are shared -...

The hostel is a Thai style place, and it's a minutes walk from a night market, and the Patpong Area is about 5 mins away. Really great for shopping. Safe to walk around. Rooms are small, but clean. Shared bathrooms had warm water and sink. Would recommend. No common room area to meet people.

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
