Stayed here on our 2nd trip to Bangkok. On rambuttri road which is far better than khao San. Nice place with very clean basic rooms. Shared bathroom was very clean with separate girls and boys facilities. Each bathroom has two toilet cubicles and two shower cubicles do plenty of space. Free water on arrival too which was nice. It was...

Great place in the middle of action! BUT they should warn about the noise in the cheapest rooms (no sleep, sounds like you're inside a bar). When I made friends with a girl in one of those rooms and offered her to crash with me for some nights rest, they found out about in and wanted to charge more. Even...

I have been to the Kao San area quite a few times and had always walked past thinking it looked charming. It's a very clean neat place, I got a single room with a shared bathroom which are immaculately clean and the rooms are very basic. The charm pretty much ends at the entrance. the only member of staff who...

Tuptim is in a great location one street over from the Khao San Road. There are heaps of bars and restaurants in the area. Beds are comfortable. Despite the live bands next door it was surprisingly quiet in the rooms. Speaking of live bands music lovers should note the pub next door (the 'Baramplu') has musicians a notch above the...

Tuptim is in an excellent location on the street parallel to KSR. Rooms are clean and great value as far as I remember. We stayed in a twin and it cost €7 each. Bathrooms very clean and with hot water. It was a bit annoying that we had to pay a deposit on the towels, but aside from that the...

I booked my first two nights in BKK in Tuptim B&B, as I wanted to be central to food and monuments but away from the madness of Khao San road. I got a single room which is ok, very basic and tiny (luckily there was another bed where to put my stuff or two people could not move in there)....

Tuptim is my go-to place if I want to stay around Khao San road. It's one of the cheapest places around and although basic for the money you can't complain. Free wi-fi (sometimes intermittant), shared bathroom, clean, breakfast included and you pay 30bt for safety deposit at main desk. Beds are quite comfortable. Air-con has no control so it can...

Yes its basic, but youre in kao san, what do you expect for the price range. The facilities are clean, nice...

Didnt stay here. Just reviewing the food as its actually a bistro as well. Ate breakfast here. Ordered a american breakfast with extra tomato. It says on the menu that it is bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, hash brown, fruit, juice and tea. I got no bacon or sausage. I actually laughed when i saw how stupidly bare the plate looked....

Located in the busy street, this place has decent rooms with clean shared toilets with hot water. The AC can't be controlled and could get very cool at night... and wifi doesn't always work. And restaurant is over priced for their service. But again, the rooms are decent, and clean, and is amazing value for money. It's definitely not a...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
