The new owner, Angie gave together with her family and staff Taewez Guesthouse a real positive upgrade! The Guesthouse became a colorfull happy feeling home, where you can choose for rooms groundfloor or upstairs with shared bathroom and airco/fan. Or rooms with own bathroom. The rooms all have different decoration paintings on the wall and the public spaces have many...

I stayed only one night at Taewez for my first trip to Bangkok. I was surprisingly with the welcome fresh fruits when I came. The staff were friendly and caring. The room was nice. The next morning was even better than my expectation. Its location is safe and convenient for me to check around local markets, ferry, temple and streets....

As a traveler, I always look for homes away from home, and just find this place in Bangkok! Is very close to the Chao Praya river, not far from the Sky Train, has a market just in front of the door! The best value of the hotel is the staff, friendly, English speaking... also French to! Yes, you can eat...

Living temporarily in Thailand, I have to come into Bangkok every so often. I have stayed at Taewez numerous times. I like a little more privacy than a hostel and this guesthouse offers that. I usually stay in the single room with a fan- which works for me in this tropical heat. have to share one of the three showers...

I stayed 13 nights here and my whole entire stay is amazing…I’m a solo traveler and I’m a city boy. The room is clean as well as the whole guesthouse. The staff are very friendly. Going to city is very easy, by bus and by boat and The famous Khaosan road is 15-20 minutes by walk. I would like to...

This place served some of my needs -- it is not anywhere near tourist areas (it is 'near' the river, but quite separated from it; it is also near Dusit, but the areas distances involved there make it seem far; plus, a number of those tourist spots are hit and miss in terms of opening times, etc.), the room is...

I stayed for 2 nighs in room tye A ( Fan room). It is quite cheap fo the area and it is vey easy to travel around by public transportation. You can use boat by going to Tawet pier which is about 2 minutes from the guest house. From this Taw pier, you can reach Phara Artit pier easily and...

We stumbled upon this place while staying in the neighbourhood. It was 200bht cheaper than the place we we're staying in even though it was much cleaner; 400bht for a double a/c room. Very comfortable and clean, especially the bed.We stayed in the low season so the price may reflect that. It has a great restaurant and friendly feel. Extremely...

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.

“If you do choose to stay here, and are prepared for the possible touting, strongarming, and hostility, I strongly advise paying more money for a bathroom room and staying downstairs. Even by BKK standards, when I viewed the upstairs dorm room, it reeked up there pretty bad.”
