We chose this hotel for the end of our Thailand trip, essentially as we had not stayed in this area before and as Platinum Accor members we received upgrades and lounge privileges. We were very pleased with our selection. As most reviews note the service is immaculate. They never miss a beat. From our arrival Ambassador Som, right through to...

While in Bangkok I had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel. From the moment you enter the lobby you are greeted by a warm and friendly staff. They greet you with a cool towel and welcoming drink. The director of Rooms Katja Kerber welcomed us and made us feel at home. The front desk was very helpful and polite....

I have stayed at the Sofitel many times and it still remans my hotel of choice when visiting Bangkok. Centrally located on Sukhumvit Road Soi 15, this hotel has it all. Large rooms with an incredibly comfy king bed. A spacious, functional bathroom and shower with smart lighting and features. The pool and gym are excellent when unwinding. As usual the...

This is quite a statement when I spend many nights in luxury hotels….so we are spoiled with high expectations. Bangkok has so many great 5 star hotels and we have stayed in many but the difference here is the management style. All staff take ownership of their role in the guest experience and do whatever it takes to make your...

After a long trip to Bangkok and an early arrival to Sofitel I was hoping they would let us check-in early... the hopes disappeared when we were told that check-in was until 2:00 pm (we arrived at 10:00am so we were ready to kill sometime around the city when the Reception Manager approached us to tell us just to wait...

It did not start very well with very slow check in. However I got a very nice room in the end. The next day I was told I had to change room! A very strange situation, and the receptionist was very unprofessional. In the end a much more professional manager came and sorted it out, but a lot of time...

When you walk inside you're hit with a cool and fragrant oasis from the craziness of Bangkok. Location is good. Rooms are luxurious, amenities are top quality, and they've thought of everything. By far our highlight was the breakfast buffet we grazed for hours!

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
