We stayed at Penpark Place several times as we went back and forth to Bangkok between travel around Thailand. We are a family of four and stayed in a family room which was spacious and clean. Friendly staff and great location. Good basic hotel recommended.

Being based on its relative value of similar budget hotels I was impressed. We had a room with a shared bathroom on the floor. That was no problem as there were not many people around this time of year. The room only had a fan but that was sufficient to be comfortable. It only had a push in door handle... More

Although we only availed a fan room. It was sufficient. Common bath is clean and so was our room. BOY.. the receptionist was very accommodating and friendly. Very easy to talk to and to approach. Finding the place may be far from the airport but still worth it since you can walk to some tourist sites

I won't give a bad review based on the fact we were woken by demolition work but it would have been nice to be notified that it would be happening. The staff are really helpful and show you how to navigate the city and stay safe. The toilets are clean although it could do we a couple more rolls of... More

We stayed here for two nights when we first arrived in Bangkok, starting out on a world tour. It is quite tucked away, the taxi driver at BKK had never heard of it, despite this we found it easily enough. Simple, basic rooms - ours had air con but no view at all, wifi worked fine. It was about a... More

We booked here for our first few nights while arriving at Bangkok.... Personally a little expensive but rooms were very clean and basic and the staff were friendly. It's a 5/10 min walk to koh San road and there are a lot of things in the same area.

I would have given this place 3 stars were it not for the people working there. The place itself is nice but it's not exactly special. The price is fair, maybe slightly on the expensive side and the rooms are clean and overall just average. The location is worth noting because it's hidden away from the noise of the main... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There were different blocks and levels in the hotel, and after having a walk around there were definitely different standards but all parts of the hotel were clean and all the rooms looked fine. Choose a room that suits you best if you can find a deal online, call them or just turn up and negotiate a price if you are prepared for a walk around if there is nothing available.”
