Myself and my partner found this hotel on trip advisor and were so pleased we booked it we initally booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 5 in total before moving on down south of thailand. We had a lovely double room with a massive bed and flat screen tv for 850 baht a night. This was a luxary...

I really liked the lady who runs the place. The rooms were nice and clean and comfy. It is quite and close enough to Kao San and far enough from Kao San. Lots of nice restraints within walking distance. Over all a nice experience and honest kind staff.

It is a clean place at a nice location, walking distance from Khao San Road. Fan rooms can be a bit hot in the summers. Very friendly and nice staff. Good breakfast. Nice view from the roof and a nice little garden at the back. But for the rooms on the upper floors, the lift doesn't work so try and...

Its a good cheap and clean hostel. My friend and i had a room with a fan and it was fine. Its close to Kao san road but there are quiet in the evenings. They have a wonderful little garden in the back were you can relax. I go here again in a couple of days.

This is a backpacker hostel. You get what you pay for. Our room was semi-big and there was a nice table with two chairs and the room cleaning was good. The internet was really sloppy and only working when we were downstairs in the eating area. And the fan was really misplaced and hit in between the beds, not hitting...

First of all, I would like to say I have reviewed several overseas hotels/hostels fairly. I'm not simply a moan for the sake of it person. That said.......... My stay started with myself having made an unfortunate mistake. I'd booked the wrong evening! I asked the staff if it was possible to book the same room the night before. He...

We ended up staying here after a night in the Sivarin Guest house (fully booked thereafter) and were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is a little more formal than the surrounding guest houses but rooms are spotlessly clean and very large. We had a great view of the gardens and the river beyond. Tucked down a side street, the area is...

The next time I stay will be my fourth. My first night in Thailand was spent up on the rooftop garden with friends, beer (Chang) and music. I'll never forget it. I also stayed there on my last night on that particular journey (5 months) and again on my last night of a short trip for old times sake. Just...

I enjoyed my stay as a solo traveler. Very clean and quiet! Helpful staff, never felt pressured by them at any time. The hostel is right in the heart of every popular attraction (Grand palace, Wat pho, Ayuttaya, Khao San road, Tourist boat connections, etc). I wish the rooms had a TV but I guess it's better to get out...

I booked this place through Hostelworld after seeing the reviews. The facilities are average for the price, the location is close to many attractions and the my stay was good until I booked a tour and then a shuttle bus to the airport. The agent who works there was hardly there, she was rude and did not give many details...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There were different blocks and levels in the hotel, and after having a walk around there were definitely different standards but all parts of the hotel were clean and all the rooms looked fine. Choose a room that suits you best if you can find a deal online, call them or just turn up and negotiate a price if you are prepared for a walk around if there is nothing available.”
