We have stayed at the New Siam Riverside for the past four years upon arrival in Bangkok, and departures from Bangkok, and continued the tradition again this year. The hotel prices have remained stable over the years, the service and accomodation have remained consistently good, the included breakfast buffet offers a good variety, and the poolside garden location on the...

Really liked this hotel so much. Myself and Twinboys stayed at this Hotel for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. We had a triple room which for the price you could really not go wrong. Clean, quiet, good breakfast and helpful staff at the front desk. Try to get a room on the fourth floor with a balcony overlooking the river. Close to Khao Son Road and other sights, and handy to a boat taxi landing nearby. Excellent local noodle shop right across the street, as well as a jazz bar.

We stayed five nights here, and chose it as a place near the old city / Khao San Road area, as opposed to the modern city centre. It is very conveniently located on the river, with a river taxi stop close by, so you can get to the modern city, and indeed all the main sites quite easily (the orange...

Great location close to major temples, khao san/rambutti roads with great restaurants and bars. Also close to riverboat. Rooms good value, pool nice after sightseeing, breakfast buffet great including freshly made pancakes and eggs. Good choice in central Bangkok. One thing to bear in mind if you arrive early morning can't guarantee early check in even in willing to pay...

We enjoy staying at the hotel if I book a deluxe room with a balcony facing the river. This is truly magical, particularly in the early mornIngs and evenings. There are few trappings here; laundry is is simple and you need to specify everything like ironing shirts etc. There are no forms, you hand them a bag and get the...

Only choose this hotel if you are very interested in the pool view. The pool and restaurant view on the river add up to an aditional price for about 15 to 20 euro per night. This is actually one of the two only basic prices river view hotels in Bangkok. About the rooms: do not expect much luxury, it is...

Our first stay was in 2010 on the last day of a Habitat for Humanity house-building project. I remembered the hotel and decided to book a longer stay. My wife, who is Thai, and I stayed for a total of 11 nights and will return, as we make yearly trips. Why return? The hotel's location is a major factor, being...

Great riverfront location in best part of the city. 125 meters to some of the best old town night scene walking areas, food and drinks. Less than 100 meters to the tourist commuter boats providing easy and cheap access up and down river, including the city center and BTS. Walkable to most temples and tourist areas. Great buffet breakfast and...

Eight of stayed here for three nights and we all had different sleeping experiences. Our room faced the street and an out of tune band played until the wee hours. Others in our party faced the inside of the building and had no noise. So make sure you ask for a river view or any room away from the street....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
