We recently spent 3 nights at this very pleasant hotel, we paid a bit more for a room overlooking the river with a balcony & I would definitely recommend it. We had great views of the river & the passing parade of boats, it's especially beautiful at night. The room was very comfortable & the included breakfast was also good....

I stayed here twice, for one night at either end of my trip to Thailand. This place is great for a taste of the fun around the Koh San Road area. It's about a 100 Baht ride from the Hua Lamphong rail station. They offer a taxi service to the airport for 450 Baht which saves a lot of hassle...

We stayed here for the last two nights of our Thailand trip; figured we'd spend a little more for the view. Ended up in room 6204 overlooking the river. The room was clean but pretty basic for the cost, the view was great (guess that is what we paid for). The bed was incredibly firm, the in room coffee is...

We have stayed at this hotel now quite a few times. It is clean and the room we stay in is very nice. It is a room with balcony and river view. There are only few of these type of rooms so best to book in advance. The staff are very helpful.Food at this hotel is also very good. I...

We stayed here 2 years ago and decided to give it a go again. As far as the actual Hotel goes, its clean, good rooms, nice pool and a decent breakfast. Its location on the river, close to ferry is good. Unfortunately, the staff lets this place down big time. Apart from the two Male front desk managers , who...

If you get a reasonable (under $50 for std room) rate, New Siam Riverside is a good value. There's a deck right on the river and a pool, plus a great location for touring and markets. Easy walk to the Palace, Museum, markets and the water tours/taxi are right there. Now, for the downsides... I'm not sure what system, if...

Okay rooms, okay breakfast and a nice pool, but the reception staff is rude to the maximum. There are so many other places to stay in Khao San and there is no need to tolerate such rude behaviour at the reception.

This hotel is the best choice if you want to stay in by the river, the express boat stop is just a 2 minute walk away. The rooms are clean and basic, more pricey if you choose a river view. There are many bars & restaurants are close by & KSR is only a 10 minute stroll.

Facing the Chao Praya River. Room is relaxing, comfortable, even not "luxury". Food served at the hotel restaurant is not so bad. Staff is welcoming and friendly. The Thammasat Univ., major Buddhist temples , Tourism Info. Center and the Khao San Street are all within walking distance. Over all value for money is very high. We stayed 3 nights, BTW.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
