We only stayed for one night here, which I think is enough, looked and felt like a prison, wifi never worked once. However the staff were nice and allowed us to check in early. You can't get a better location than khao San road. For one or two nights yeah why not because it's real cheap but any longer and...

Hostel is located straight on Khao San Road, the most famous street in Bangkok, but deep enough in alley, so you have some privacy there also. Room was spacy and tidy, but ceiling fan was not enough, I recommend rooms with A/C. Shared bathroom was clean, but sometimes we had to wait for toilet or shower, because it was occupied...

It was set far enough back that the noise from the road did not keep you up all night, but it was right near the action. The location can't be beat. The rooms were cheap so you get what you pay for. We had air conditioning that worked really well, but the beds were a bit hard. I would recommend...

This location is ideal and the facilities/ rooms are simple but it has everything you need and although it's right on Koh San Road, it was very quiet. We stayed here every time we came back to Bangkok during our trip so would definitely recommend if you want basic accommodation in the perfect location :)

We were 3 NIght´s in this Hostel. It is around in the middle of the Khao San Road. We paid 350B for room with shared bathroom. The size of the room is ok. not small and not big. the bathroom is clean, but it is just one in every building for 5-6 Rooms. I think there should be more.

To me, a smile is quite important. Me and my boyfriend walked in this hostel after an hour searching for a place to stay at Khao San Road. It was hard to find the reception. We booked a room with airconditioning for 500 Baht. At that moment we were travelling with another couple and they booked the same thing. After...

Rooms are good enough. Staff (especially the reception lady) is horrible! Arrived here with 2 couples. They let us pay the same amount for 2 rooms which where totally different. Our room didnt have hot water and 2 single beds. When we asked why we had to pay the same she started to scream at us. Everytime we passed her...

I stayed at this so called boutique hotel for the past week an let me say it is anything but! Although accommodation was cheap there are alot better establishments around the area for the same price. Rooms are like tiled jail cells with windows looking onto a roof top making it very dark. Staff come round an turn the electric...

Awesome location. Wedged between two buildings down an alley, right on koh san but away from the noise. Room was clean, ac worked, staff was friendly and we had a shower. Great choice for budget backpacking!

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
