I had never traveled solo before, and I was scared as I had just arrived in bangkok (7am) and had booked to stay here. I arrived and within 5 minutes I was already speaking to people in the common area in reception. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere however they have a no shoes policy inside and they are strict with...

Awesome little hostel around Khao San Road area in the hustle and bustle of everything. Great hostel for solo travellers looking to meet people, everyone is so friendly and wants to chat. We were a couple and felt very welcomed!! Very clean, lovely dorms with rucksack size lockers. Not the quietest, most people go out and get smashed each evening...

Not much to say here. Good: clean beds and dorms. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff who speak great English. They helped organize an airport taxi at a good rate. Taxi was perfectly punctual as well. Good wifi, solid signal and decent speed. Bathrooms clean and in good working order. Firm beds. Power outlets and small lamps in your bunk. Larger lockers...

I've stayed in the hostel for 3 nights and it was a very pleasant experience. The common area is really nice, with lots of people chillin' at any given time. It's air-conditioned and clean. The staff is also courteous and helpful, and engage with the guests in the party activities. The room i stayed in was alright, but there was...

Nappark is the very first hostel I stayed at when I first came travelling 4 years ago. I had such an amazing time there then that I thought I had to check the place out again when I was passing through Bangkok again. I wasn't disappointed, the hostel is such a great place for meeting other travellers and swapping stories....

If you're a young traveller looking for affordable accommodation with a super sociable vibe this is the place to go. We can't fault it. Beds are comfortable and clean - they can be made private, you have a plug, a light and a locker. The staff are helpful and very chilled. There's a really nice sociable area with films playing,...

I stayed here twice on my trip to Thailand, and I loved it. Very clean and social hostel, without it disrupting anyone's sleep. The best hostel I stayed at my whole trip in Thailand. You're close enough to the action on Khaosan Road, but far enough away to be able to sleep and enjoy the quiet. Close enough to walk...

The hostel is located in a great proximity to the big night markets on Khao San which are perfect for grabbing a bite to eat, listening to music, getting a thai massage, or buying some souvenirs. It was also very clean, from the main area, to the dorm rooms beds and bathrooms. We also had a change of plans and...

The negative 1. Unwillingness /inability to advise on what to do or see. One of the employees would actually not recommend that I see where the locals live! She would not tell me where to go. However you only need to see a guide book to read that at least Tonburi is worth seeing. And it really is! So apart...

If you are on traveling around SEA and are arriving in Bangkok then this is the best place to start. The staff are awesome and the people are great too. I met half a dozen people here who were also on the start of their trip and we all stayed together for about 6 weeks. So of us even longer....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
