The star of this place is the friendly and oh so helpful english speaking young receiptionist. That can be the deal breaker in deciding whether to stay in a place or not if the staff are friendly and helpful and easy to communicate with. I'll say more about her later. After lots of research I found Sunflower Place just around...

Room size is ok for 2 people, bed was hard at the beginning, but at the end we really liked it as we slept well there. Bathroom ok, clean. Service helpful and nice. Perfect location, close to subway station, park and niece bars and restaurants. I was afraid that because of the location it would be noisy, but to my...

Great value for a twin room. Location, cleanliness, comfort, and facilities all get a thumbs up. Wifi was average. Upon checking in, I was handed a complimentary bottle of water which was a nice touch. My complaint is that when checking out I dealt with an older lady at reception who treated me with rudeness. Aside from that person, the...

Friendly staff, clean room in a central location. Fairly priced. Airconditioning nice and cold. Quite near to Sky Train. Take a map and study the location as it be difficult to find upon arrival in Bangkok.

Price range for accommodation was fair enough considering that this is located on the business district and more decent side of BKK. However, finding the hostel was quite tricky since this is located on an alley and side streets of restaurants and massage parlors. There is a local market and street food stalls near the hostel and even pricey restaurants....

It took me an hour to find the hotel, faulty gps on google maps and the map they have on their Thai website is not very detailed, it is hidden inside several side streets. If you do not get here by taxi from the airport and take the train from the airport, and arrive at Silom station you will get...

Can't really fault Sunflower place, it has everything you need. Staff are extremely helpful and will tell you everything you need to know, room was perfect and the air con is a must. However we had some problems with the location as on more than one occasion the taxi drivers didn't have a clue where they were going even with...

On arrival we were given a double room. The room was decent and the bed comfortable. However, the air conditioning unit broke in the same afternoon. We were given a new room instead. The owner of the hostel was pleasant enough. Though the best thing was the location. For the price we paid we could not find a better hostel...

In Silom area though need a 10-mins walk to nearest BTS; staff generally friendly, pretty clean, have a lift while others would not have though must climb up some stairs to it, fridge is bigger than others, have more cloth hangers than others of same grade, electrical outlets are surprisingly conveniently located; no shower curtain so water is all over...

I stayed two nights at Sunflower in a single private room ensuite. After 8 nights in a dorm in a hostel prior to this, it felt like absolute luxury arriving at Sunflower. My room had everything I could want - it was spacious, clean, quiet, great air con, fridge, TV, safe, and small balcony with curtains (I didn't use this...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
