I got the single room with fan and wifi (~270THB). Room had a single bed and a table+in-room bathroom. Nothing special - low standard. Not much noise. The staff behaved like they were forced to work there (not really friendly).

It is cheap and cheerful. The rooms are basic but have fan or air con. I've stayed in both and they are both fine. The bathrooms are basic thai ones but are clean. It is secure and in a great location; round the corner from khao san road and near a whole load of bars/restaurant/clubs. It is also next door... More

Great for solo travellers, or groups of friends. For many years my favourite place to stay in Bangkok. The main selling point is the reception area / restaurant, which the long communal couches turn into a fantastic place to meet other travellers. The food there is very good, and they have a very good coffee machine! The rooms are functional... More

...what to say. It was okay, since we only needed a spot to get some sleep. And if you come home drunk you will find some sleep everywhere. Our room was in the top floor so we could have used a shower everytime after going up. But they were not that clean, so we did not use them that often.... More

The location is good but staff isn't. Maybe it's just that one woman but she totally contaminates the place. Many few incidents and then a broken glass that set off a terrible interaction. She asked us to pay, we showed surprise and she started going crazy at us, shouting. She said that's how it is in Thailand, but even if... More

Used to love this place but what a difference a few years make. Pretty much the same staff, but with very poisonous attitudes. They ate slow, non responsive and rude. They act like bringing you a menu and even service are beneath them. Had problems here in the past and I probably won't come back. Avoid thid and teo guest... More

I like the vibe of the hostel. it's nice to meet knew people. Even if it's not the most luxurious one, it has its uhnique vibe. It's still central and close to Khao San buit not too noisy. I love the breakfast at the street food stall right across the street.

Owner/Staff- Just terrible. So I had a spur of the moment decision at 11:50am to go to Koh Tao. I used their travel agency. When I was doing that, a guy walked by and I told him the place was cheap and the rooms were okay. So a minute after that, I finished my purchase and saw him at the... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
