The price is the best thing about it. Too basic for my tastes. The walls are too thin and you can hear everything going on in the rooms around you. Plus the heat in our room was unbearable. It's a beautiful looking place. Breakfast was OK. The staff were really friendly. Plus there's a nice area downstairs to hang out...

We were surprised by the quality of the hostel. Very clean and well maintained. The owners were friendly people always helping out to answer our questions and give information. The location is perfect for visiting the many tourist attractions in the area.

Awesome host and best value for money hotel. Proximity to the Khaosan Road also makes it a good option for people exploring the area. Our host was very cooperative and helped us chalk out best routes to travel to places to see within Bangkok. A memorable experience.

Its a Hostel, but a comfortable one. one can stay here for about 200 baht onwards. I found it clean and open, staff is friendly here, though it is little away from maket but its worth as there is less noises around

The owners/workers of this hostel couldn't help you enough they were so lovely. Tried to stay here again when we came back to Bangkok but it was all booked up! Our room was spacious, with a shared bathroom/shower which we never had any problems with! About a 10 minute walk from Khaosan road so perfect if you want to be...

Good value for money, it is well located near Kaosan Road and not too close to avoid the noise. We took a double room without AC. It was then quite hot with only 2 fans but we knew it when we took the room, if you go during August take the room with AC. The bedroom and the shared bathroom...

Decided to stay here for our lastnight because it was cheap and we wanted to experience Khaosan before leaving. This was our 1st taste of a "hostel" and we enjoyed it. Its tucked away from the main road, about 5 minute walk. Nice and quiet. Our room we got was the very 1st room on the left when passing the...

First impression was pretty bad. After emailing the hostel stating that I would be checking in after midnight I was assured that it was no problem. After getting there though and ringing their bell numerous times they never came. Finally a guest let us in but didn't know what to do either. Finally someone came down and checked us in...

We love it here. The rooms in the first building are spacious and cool even without aircon, everything nicely decorated like somebody's own house. The shared bathroom was modern and spotless. The rooms above reception are smaller with just matresses on the floor, bathroom not as nice and much warmer but still bearable with the fan on. Above reception also...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There are stairs here regardless of what room you are in. If you find stairs difficult, you may want to ask if you can arrange for a first floor room so that you only have to tackle one flight of steps.”
