I chose to stay at Smile Society because it was in the financial district (away from backpackers chaos). The staff were awesome, and the fellow travelers were super fun! We organized some trips through the hostel, and they allowed me to keep my big bag locked up for free. Fast wifi, good service, and a real community vibe. If you...

I stayed two nights at Smile Society & absolutely loved it. The Innkeepers cum Owners are very welcoming and hospitable and make you feel at home. They have good information on the whereabouts in Bangkok and do everything to assist their guests during their stay. I had a great, clean, and comfortable room with AC, mini fridge, satellite LED TV...

Bee, thank you for welcoming me and my friends to your hostel! Smile Society is a home away from home. The hostel itself is in a great location (night markets, food market, etc). The facilities are maintained so well from the bathroom, to your room, to the common area. The common area itself is also amazing with a comfy couch,...

This hostel is in a terrific spot in Bangkok. You are right by several markets, the sky train, and good restaurants. The owner is a lovely little lady who will help you with any questions or bookings all over the city. She is basically there at all hours depending on what you need and makes breakfast every morning. Would highly...

First of all: Of course a hostel owner would like to ask guests to write a review if they had a pleasant stay, so I do not quite understand ratings that point that out as being negative. This hostel is for everyone who likes to explore Bangkok and is looking for a cosy and clean place to relax after a...

We arrived at this hostel in the afternoon. First hostel in six months trip. Miss Bee was really cool and helpful at the first sign. The women dorm is really clean, full of sun and we have met nice people. We overly recommend you that place if you're calm and easy even if it's in the nightlife area.

My first place to stay in Thailand, and I had a great experience in this friendly hostel. I was met with a warm welcome. The lady owning the hostel is very friendly and helpful and gave me great tips on how to spent my days in Bangkok, the public transportation, where to buy a Thai sim card and she even...

We were met with a very warm welcome and the checkin process was very painless which is exactly what you want after 12 hours of flying, we were showed to the room and were very impressed! It was very clean and tidy with free water bottles to drink as well. We got brilliant advice on how best to spend our...

Actually, we didn't even check in here. We were three and our flight was moved so when we arrived we told the staff that we would have one in stead of two nights.. They got angry, OK, we agreed to pay for the second one as well as we were tired and wanted to check in. They spoke in Thai...

This was my 5th trip to Bangkok but first time staying in the Silom area. The hostel is in a great location - within 5 minute walk to the BTS, 10 min walk to Lumpini Park and if you are brave enough to navigate the traffic a half an hour to 40 min walk to the river pier to catch...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
