Nestled in the heart of Bangkok, Oriental Residence is lauded for its exceptional service, where staff are commended for their unfaltering attentiveness and professionalism. The hotel's amenities, including the comfortable suites with kitchenettes and the tranquil pool area, are popular among guests, though some suggest improvements in maintenance.
While the rooms are celebrated for their spaciousness and luxury touches, a few reviewers have raised concerns over upkeep. Despite mixed opinions on value, many appreciate the hotel's elegant atmosphere and its convenient location close to shopping and transport options.

Wat the concierge is amazing and so helpful. He’s the man to see at the front desk for anything. All the staff are amazing in fact. So polite and very helpful. Very clean everywhere. Beautiful pool area which I was the only one to use during my stay!! Great all to myself!!
Cafe Claire is amazing, bit pricey but after all you are getting top quality food and trust me, it’s worth every penny. I would definitely come here again. That’s how impressive it is

A high quality hotel both in terms of the rooms, common areas, staff and facilities. We had a large corner one bedroom suite which provided comfortable and luxurious accommodation. The hotel is at an excellent location. The room rate was very competitive and included breakfast from a comprehensive a la carte menu (this replaced the standard buffet because of Covid considerations. The property also has a high class, formal Western restaurant with a Michelin star. We did not try this restaurant but a "foodie" friend who lives in Bangkok told us that it was an excellent restaurant. The gym is not large but it has a good selection of machines which all appeared to be quite new and were well maintained. All staff were friendly, efficient and proactively ready to help. We will certainly stay at this property again.

A highly well maintained, elegant place to stay in the center of Bangkok. The staff were extremely attentive and the location is central for Lumphini park and big shopping centres, however slightly set apart from the main drag, making the walk to and from Siam Square slightly further. Also, as someone who enjoys experiencing local culture and food, the area doesn’t offer much colour beyond shopping malls, overpriced bars and restaurants.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. I would classify this as very high end Appartment’s with all hotel facilities. What I really like about this place are the 2 bedroom suites which gives you a full kitchen(stove etc). There’s also an en suite washing machine and drier so this makes it the perfect place for a trip with young children.
Loved the stay and everything about this place. Will be coming here again.

I and my partner visited Bangkok and stayed at Oriental Residence (OR) again to celebrate New Year. We were greeted by familiar door men with my name. The well decorated blue Christmas tree caught our attention and was a must take photo spot. Unique smell, elegant decoration, pleasant and sincere receptionists were well maintained. Our room was well kept as well. Strong feeling of home when we stepped in the room. Next day we tried the "Digital Delicious" on 4/F Playdeck which was a wonderful experience. Two friends joined us and we occupied the whole venue like a private party. Thank Ball, Food and Beverage manager, and Iron Chef, for organising this brand new event which was the first time in Thailand. The light show lasted for over an hour with four themes and the four courses were really delicious but would have been even better if bread was provided as one of my guests had big appetite. Korn and his concierge team were extremely helpful helping me to book massage with different options and backup plan and made amendments many times and reserved a nice table for me at Baan Dusit Thai to celebrate a friend's birthday. Korn and team were so efficient and passionate and great manner. My trip was excellent till I encountered a disgraceful taxi driver who picked us up at lobby and then quoted THB600 instead of following the meter. His attitude was terrible and kept shouting at us. Then I thought of Korn and called him to help. Korn managed to warn the taxi driver to follow the meter and reported the case to Transport Department. On the rest of the way to airport, we tightened up our safety belt and experienced F1 race to airport within 20 mins. Thanks Korn for helping us in emergency situation. Apart from this incident, we enjoyed OR for its peaceful, elegance, quiet, style, at various corner even during peak season.

Thought that we’d try this delightful hotel/residence and were not disappointed. Ideally situated in the CBD, close to excellent shopping malls like The Embassy Mall.
We received a warm welcome on arrival and checked in without any hassle. We booked a Junior Suite, which I’d guess is their equivalent to a deluxe room. The room was more than adequate for our needs and even had a kitchenette with hob, microwave, fridge etc.
The bed was comfortable, but the pillows did not suit us being too soft, I felt like I was wearing earmuffs! There was a pillow menu but really? Who could be bothered on a one night stay. The bathroom was lovely and had all the amenities we needed.
We also used the complimentary shuttle to the Embassy Mall.
We had dinner at the hotel in Cafe Claire. The French Onion Soup was fantastic but we were let down with our mains of Duck Parmantier and the Beef Cheek Bourguignon; the former being made from instant mashed potatoes and the latter being very gelatinous. The service was excellent, however.
We also had the buffet breakfast in the morning which was satisfactory. Best tip - order your eggs first so that the rest of your breakfast doesn’t go cold. A very good selection of breads and pastries. There is a Michelin star restaurant within the hotel.
Check out was smooth and without incident.
Would absolutely stay there again, mainly due to the lovely, helpful staff.

It was a birthday trip for my wife with my toddler and I wanted to give her a wonderful memory. The guest relation agents dept. and the hotel staff were there to assist and, more important, to make good things even better and sweeter, including arranging birthday flowers (costs on guest), cake delivery (you can either order it from the hotel or other bakery outside) with nice looking staff singing birthday song (that’s complementary!) on the birthday night. We all had an enjoyable time. It is a baby and children friendly hotel (in terms of bed arrangement and foods for breakfast) and staff were actively engaging with my child. Will I recommend families to consider staying there? My answer is Yes!

We had a great stay here as a family. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, even though we didn't really eat there, we had all equipment to do so, plus a washing machine/dryer which was a bonus. The pool and play deck are a great option to cool off after a day of sight-seeing. The breakfast is good, although they are sometimes a bit short of tables (and staff) if you come at the busiest time around 9am. All staff very polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is well situated around 10 min walk from phloen chit sky train, and easy to get taxis everywhere if you avoid rush hour. Loved it and didn't want to leave!!

Have been a loyal customer since the inspection of the Hotel and we usually stay for a week annually. Was one of the first guest post COVID to support the hotel as well. We have know the entire team from the door man to the team at the Cafe over the years but it appears most of the team have left the hotel and the culture seems very impersonal, lacks customer centricity and the focus has turned to cutting cost and making money at every step of the way. Despite being members our request for rooms on the same floor were ignored and our kids had to stay for a night on 6 floors away from us. The front office team make no effort to accommodate any request and keep upselling early check in, suit upgrades and offer no flexibility. For the first time inspected alternative hotels in the vicinity like the Waldorf Astoria, Rosewood and Park Hyatt which offer their members and loyalist a sense of arrival, warmth and care which are the fundamentals of hospitality. A very sad moment for us.

Dear Mr.Desouza, Thank you for your comment concerning your experience at the Oriental Residence Bangkok. First, we were really sorry to read that we were not able to provide you a satisfactory experience and we did not meet your expectation. That is why, it is always very important for a Team to know where improvement can be made in order to enhance the guest experience. Regarding room assignment, since the hotel held a big group check in the period before your arrival, so we were not able to assign you on the same floor, however room move was provided for you on the next day. We are so sorry for the inconvenience caused. Mr. Desouza, I wish you and your family a wonderful time for the rest of your stay with us. Should there be anything which we could do to make your stay more comfortable, please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. Best regards, Panita Ruangjun Manager Front Office

We stayed at the Oriental Residence for 4 nights and had a spacious 2-bedroom suite on the 18th floor. The room had a great layout and offered breathtaking views on the park of the US and Dutch embassies as well as the skyline of Bangkok. The location is highly recommended, close to many nice restaurants & shopping facilities but also to the great temples and the river.
Breakfast was a mix of buffet and a la carte dishes, all very delicious and with great variety. The service team was very attentive and friendly.
The concierge, Wat, and his team was very very helpful in arranging memorable experiences, from a visit to the floating and night markets, Thai massage, a long boat tour, restaurant recommendations and reservations as well as transport arrangements. His service was really outstanding and a reason alone to stay at OR. World class!
Thank you so much for making the time in Bangkok so memorable, Wat, and hope to be back in OR very soon.

Dear 126gillianw,
Thank you for your question.
We have washer and dryer in all our 2 bedroom suite.
At the Belvedere, check-in is 3pm. However of course, if the rooms is ready before that, check-in is possible earlier and if the room was not occupied the day before, even in the morning.
Check-out is 11am, as otherwise it would be impossible to have all rooms ready by 3pm. However if the room will not be taken again on the day of your departure, a later check-out is possible. But keep in mind, 3pm check-in, 11am check-out.
