U-Baan Guesthouse is notably cheaper than the others, and for a good reason - it's in a more local/residential part of Bangkok. Surrounding restaurants are also considerably more local (in price and offerings) - a plus, in my opinion. But that doesn't mean it isn't accessible. It's only a very short walk (5 minutes max.) to Wongwian Yai BTS Skytrain...

The place is well located close to a metro station. My flight came really late, but the Joy waited for me and she was really good at replying all my messages on facebook. The atmosphere at the guesthouse was great, and generally this is due to Joy who even organized a dinner with many of the people staying in the...

Fantastic stay. Really good atmosphere in hostel and Joy is amazing. She has so much knowledge about Bangkok and offers good advice. The area is quiet and away from the tourists. Good food locally - a real plus. Will definitely stay with her again on any return trip to Bangkok.

Myself and a friend were backpacking around thailand and stayed here on two occasions at the beginning and end of our trip and i have to say it was one of the most friendly and hospitable places we had been overall. Joy was so helpful with any queries we had and is a wealth of knowledge about what to see/avoid...

Joy is a really nice owner, always helpful and chatty. The hostel is pretty far out of the centre but in a really nice non tourist neighborhood with good food. If you dont mind not being in the party place this is a great hostel (very close to the BTS). The bathroom was a bit small and beds are really...

It was quiet, in a non-tourist neighbourhood, and really easy to get to from the train. I only stayed two nights, but Joy was so welcoming and relaxed I wish I could have stayed a week. I'd even recommend it to my mum.

Clean, basic hostel with outside common area, perfect for a couple of days going through Bangkok. Joy is friendly and has a great sense of humour, she's doing a great job! My only criticism is that the hostel needs a bigger sign or, a sign as it's difficult to locate and not on google maps app yet, only the web...

The Hostel was very clean and easy to find. The host named Joy was alright, but she made one too many weird remarks about german people, which could be taken as an offense if you don't like the sarcastic attitude of Joy. Also the mix of people wasn't too nice, any other hostel I've been to before on this trip...

I arrived to Bangkok on a hot & sweaty Saturday evening and was met with an amazing & friendly group of fellow travellers chatting away over some beers. I felt as if I'd arrived at home. Joy has a lovely, cheeky sense of humour and I quickly developed a bond with her, I really think she was made for hosting...
