This was a great place to stay. Our main concern was it was so very hot and we have a toddler so it was difficult to walk places. Even the 2 km to Banglamphu was too far in the heat, and it meant we were pretty much stuck during the long morning and evening peak hour when taxis were difficult...

The home stay is very conveniently located and beautifully designed. Also very clean and comfortable. The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are done up beautifully. Will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Bangkok. The little touches that make it special - the owners keep the pantry stocked with snacks and frozen foods for a...

We stayed in Loog Choob just 2 nights and most of the time we were out but it felt so nice to finally come back to this beautiful Homestay and get some rest after exploring busy Bangkok. The host is very warm and beautiful lady. She prepared early check in for us and woke up very early in the morning...

Loog Choob Homestay is a tastefully decorated small hotel in a good location. All potential destinations for a Bangkok visit can easily reached by TukTuk. The hotel owners were very helpful in every aspect providing good tips and equipping us with a map and a guide for TukTuk drivers written in Thai (since many of them do not speak English)....

When taking into account what you get for you money, then this place is awesome! The rooms are spacious and clean and more reminiscent of a luxury hotel than something termed 'Homestay'. At the same time a warm homeliness doesn't go amiss as everybody here is super-nice and very helpful. There is no breakfast as such, but a little kitchenette...

We had a great time at the Loog Choob Homestay. The room was spacious with a tv, a stylish bathroom and a comfortable bed. Around the corner is a great food market and a local food court with so many delicious meals. The owner are lovely and helpful and make your stay perfect. Thank you for everything, kind regards, Jenny...

We visited Loog Choob twice and enjoyed our stay. First time we took the junior suite which gave us a largish room, a big bathroom with a standalone bath and an area with a hand-shower for washing before bathing (I think of this as 'Japanese style'), and a seating area outside. And ready access to the roof which is covered...

Practical review for those seriously considering the place: Location - The homestay is located in the old part of town. Quiet street. Near 2 local market (one about 3-5 minute walk the other 5-10 minute walk). Local eateries/street food nearby but not much restaurants - these where about 15-20 minute walk. The nearby buildings are usually old stores or old residences....

This guesthouse has several options, the most elegant being the suites, and the better value being the twin room. Close enough to walk to the old city but out of the congestion, Loog Choob lives up to its rating with immaculate rooms, hot water and very nice shared spaces. The owner was very helpful answering our many questions and even...

Staying in Dusit

Neighbourhood Profile
Dusit
When wandering around the Dusit Palace grounds, you'd almost forget you're still in a Southeast-Asian city. The Renaissance-style buildings and leafy gardens wouldn't be out of place in an European capital, and the serenity here is in stark contrast with the chaotic city life outside of its complex walls. Dusit is one of Bangkok's oldest districts, and while the rest of Bangkok is modernising at a rapid pace, Dusit seems to have stood the test of time. Come here to find family businesses in traditional shophouses, small-scale local markets and streets unfazed by modern city life.
